About me

Todd A. Orston was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1997, and after four years of work as a criminal prosecutor, he began his career as a family lawyer, dedicated to the representation of clients in divorce and other family law related matters. Todd has successfully counseled and represented clients in all types of domestic relations cases, and he understands what it takes to obtain the best results for his clients. Additionally, Todd continues to deepen his knowledge and experience in his practice, and is a licensed mediator, collaborative law practitioner, and guardian ad litem.

Todd is a partner at Meriwether & Tharp, LLC, where our goal is to provide clients with the strong and skilled legal representation they need to successfully resolve issues relating to divorce and other difficult legal matters.  Our attorneys practice in the areas of divorce and family law, and routinely handle matters related to divorce, child support and child custody, enforcement of existing orders (i.e. contempt actions), preparation of pre- and postnuptial agreements, separation agreements, family violence, juvenile law, adoption, and any and all other family law related matters.    We know that  these types of legal matters can be very stressful on our clients, and we have the skills and experience needed to provide our clients with the settlement-focused representation that can hopefully avoid unnecessary litigation.  We approach and handle every case with a high level of professionalism that clients have a right to expect from lawyers, and we believe that strong representation does not require unreasonably litigious behavior. Settlement is very often the best, most cost-effective option, but if settlement is not possible after good-faith efforts are made, my 16+ years of experience as a criminal prosecutor and civil litigator, as well as the experience of all of our attorneys, provide our clients with the strong representation they need and deserve.
