I was in Atlanta visiting my sister's family when some friends in the area asked me to go out that night. They picked me up in a brand new BMW, and at the end of the night, I wanted to take it for a spin. Not long after, I was arrested for DUI, Reckless Driving, Speeding (95mph in a 65mph zone), and Failure to Signal a Lane Change.
The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on me as I was in lock-up, and once I got out and reviewed the penalties associated with those offenses, I seriously thought my career was in jeopardy. A DUI is 10-day minimum prison sentence. My drivers license would likely get suspended. In my line of work, I must always be available for contact, and my absence from work would have derailed a $50 million project. On top of that, what other special circumstances affect me since I don't reside in Georgia?
I contacted several of the top-rated DUI lawyers in Atlanta on Avvo.com For me, money was not an issue, especially for a matter as serious as this. And while he's not on the cheaper side of the spectrum for DUI lawyers in Atlanta, he certainly is not the most expensive. So what set Larry apart from the others was his completely honest assessment of my situation. I felt the others tried to sell me false hope while Larry was a straight-shooter. And that's the kind of person I wanted on my team.
Once I hired Larry, he gave me a list of things to do in order to help my case. Substance abuse evaluation, DUI school, etc. In the mean time, he would make all of the court appearances for me since I lived out-of-state. That alone saved me thousands in flight/hotel/car rental expenses. Whenever I had a question, Larry was quick to respond to my emails or texts. And then finally a year and a half after my arrest, a date for my Motions Hearing was set. For 1.5 years, the specter of this legal issue hung over my life. I fully expected to serve jail time for this; and while that would have been terrible, my real concern was my career.
On the eve of the Motions Hearing, literally 10 minutes before I was about to set off on my drive to Atlanta, I got a call from Larry. Because of the evidence that they had on me, Larry told me that he was able to make a deal with the prosecutor to drop the DUI charge. And sure enough, because of Larry's hard work on this case, because of the DUI-related tasks that he had me do before the Hearing, and because of his working relationships within the courts, I plead guilty to only Reckless Driving and Speeding and walked out of court with only a $500 fine, no probation. On top of that, the Speeding wasn't even the excessive variety (15+ mph over the limit).
Now, Larry's service could have ended right there. Instead he insisted on guiding me through the process of paying the fines and recovering the cash bond that was posted for my arrest. All the while, I witnessed him working his relationships within the court system to help out another client. It reminded me of a lobbyist in Congress making backroom deals to further his clients goals. Like a lot of things in life, it's all about who you know. And Larry knows them all.
I honestly cannot recommend Larry Kohn enough. Do yourself a favor and hire him.

Mr. Kohn is a 10/10 lawyer, through and through. Several years ago when I was 18, I had multiple drug-related charges that were severe enough to cripple my future. One of the greatest things that could have happened to me, however, was that I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Kohn take my case. To say that I got a great result would be an understatement - I got THE BEST possible result I could have asked for, which completely gave me the second chance I needed. Throughout the process, Mr. Kohn was nice, very communicative, and knowledgeable about how we should proceed. I will truly remember the work he did for me for the rest of my life, and will never take it for granted.
Here I am several years later, and I had a few questions for Mr. Kohn regarding my case. When I told him who I was, he remembered me and the details of my case from YEARS ago. Beyond just getting a fantastic result, he remembered the case perfectly and was able to quickly answer all of my questions. I simply cannot give Mr. Kohn enough credit here - he is a top-notch lawyer who is an expert in his field, and you cannot go wrong with him!

I was nervous that morning in court. What started out as a fun "boys day out" months before ended up with me, at over 3 times the legal limit, hitting another car then hitting the curb totaling my own car, calling my wife to bail me out of jail and now facing DUI charges.
I honestly believed there was no hope for my situation. I came into the courtroom fully prepared to be led downstairs and fed to a dragon. Larry was talking to the prosecuting attorneys and then we all stood before the judge. As I stood there listening to the judge, it started to become clear that something different was happening. I started to regain hope.
The judge dismissed me and Larry told me to go sit down while he took care of some business. A few minutes later Larry came over to me and said "Do you understand what just happened to you. Your DUI was dismissed and reduced to a reckless driving charge".
It was just after Halloween and my morning talk show had recently mentioned the great escape artist and magician Harry Houdini.
I looked at Larry and said, "You're a magician".
I read some of the reviews here before writing this one and I now see that my situation was nothing compared to what Larry has taken of for others.
Larry Kohn is without question the most prepared, intelligent and dedicated lawyer you will ever encounter. If you're in a dire situation and need a true legal escape artist, there is none better. He will put you at ease and make your problems disappear.

Attorney Kohn's professionalism, responsiveness and competence epitomizes all that I expected out of an attorney. His quick responses, whether by email or over the phone, assured me that he was always on the job. In the end, he exceed my expectations and all charges were dismissed.

I was facing a misdemeanor charge and contacted Lawrence Kohn within a week of the incident. He listened to all the information I had to give him and immediately gave me suggestions on what I needed to do get back on track. He handled everything for me. Mr. Kohn is very responsive, and he cares about his clients. Through the entire process which I expected to be very stressful he kept me informed and made the process so much easier. He was able to work out a pre-trial diversion. My charges went from a misdemeanor to 40 hours of community service and dismissed. I highly recommend him for anyone who needs a criminal defense attorney. I feel I received the best possible outcome because of Lawrence Kohn and was able to get back on track with my life. Thank you so much.

Larry did a wonderful job representing me. He was able to get my 3rd DUI in 10 years dropped to a wreckless, and I am still able to keep my drivers license. He is straight foreward and very easy to talk to. I highly recommend him!! I would definitely contact him if you have a similar situation.

Larry Kohn is a hard nose straight to the facts type of lawyer. He defended my case and i got great results. When i had limited understanding of what was going on with several offences i had, he made clear what troubles i was facing and how he could help me. He cleared me of a DUI, got a proof of residency charge thrown out and clear my name of being convicted. Hats off to Larry and i got my moneys worth.

I could not be more grateful for Larry Kohn. Earlier this year I was arrested for probation violation and then two weeks later arrested again for felony theft by shoplifting. I was facing 30 days in jail for the violation and even more plus being labeled a felon for the shoplifting. My life was completely out of control. Mr. Kohn recognized that I was struggling with mental health issues and encouraged me to seek treatment for depression, anxiety and trauma at Ridgeview Institute. I spent 4 weeks in an intensive outpatient program and subsequently i now feel better than I have in as long as I can remember. In regards to my probation violation, when I got to the courtroom Mr. Kohn had already worked out with the judge that my probation would be reinstated as was with no further penalty. Two days ago, I had my court date to address the felony charge and once again Mr. Kohn had already worked out a diversion program with the prosecutor and upon completion of a 13 week online course, my arrest and the charge will be expunged from my record. I could not have dreamed of a better outcome. I don't even want to imagine where I would be had I not had Mr. Kohn on my side.
