Attorney David Stoddard is a trial lawyer. He has spent his entire 25-year career litigating cases in courtrooms throughout South Carolina. He emphases cases involving personal injury, DUI arrests, and Family Law.
Personal Injury Attorney of Anderson, SC, David Stoddard has extensive experience in civil litigation and criminal litigation, both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. He began his career as a prosecutor for the 10th Judicial Circuit. From 1986 through 1994, David prosecuted serious felonies, including murder cases, rape cases, drug cases and white-collar crime. Attorney Stoddard left the Solicitor’s Office in 1994 and went into practice with the firm Waldrep & Stoddard. While at the firm, David mainly represented defendants as a personal injury attorney in Anderson, SC, and in insurance defense cases. However, when the firm became more plaintiff oriented, Stoddard left the firm to start his own personal injury attorney practice in 2006.
When David is not in the courtroom, he spends much of his free time with his wife and his two children. He is also an active member of the Anderson community. He is a member of the Anderson Rotary Club and serves as a deacon for the Anderson First Baptist Church. David is also on the church’s Personnel Committee and sings in their choir. Mr. Stoddard also enjoys listening to music, golf, running and weight lifting.

Are you an attorney? Endorse this lawyer
I endorse this lawyer. I have known David, both personally and professionally, for over 25 years, as co-counsel and adversaries on cases. I have found him to be exceptionally prepared on every issue. His dedication to his clients and concern for the best result, really set him apart, however. He leaves nothing to chance and covers all his bases in case preparation, which results in the best outcome for his clients. With the wealth of experience and knowledge he has, I wholeheartedly recommend David in both civil and criminal cases.

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority.
Public reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.
David’s comment: “David Stoddard's Legal Assistant stole funds from David Stoddard's trust account in 2009. The legal assistant went to prison. Mr. Stoddard replaced all of stolen funds. However, because the attorney is ultimately responsible for trust funds, this incident resulted in a public reprimand.”
