Compassionate is not a word commonly used to describe an attorney, but Russ’ responsive approach has proven to me that he is genuinely a gracious person who sincerely cares about his clients and their wellbeing. He is an astute lawyer, knowledgeable beyond imagination with a brilliant intellect in his field. He and his associate Kristina have been, and continue to be, my family’s strongest advocates in a system that has held no one accountable while leaving others terrified.
I feel a special connection with Russ. He has been a pillar of strength. Giving me hope, advice (not always what I want to hear, but trust completely) and encouragement as well as his time. Russ has NEVER been too busy to respond.
If you have an attorney, you have a problem…problems create stress. Everybody’s emotional needs are fulfilled through different stimuli. Russ and Kristina provide me what I need…a “verbal” as well as “written” connection which provides me a temporary peace. They engage with me about my case rather than dismissing it as insignificant. They treat me with the greatest respect as well as kindness. I am not an easy client. I am an anxious person, particularly during this time. Russ and Kristina approach my situation with an acuity that may not fit another, but this is their art and why they are so skilled in their profession.
I have such great faith in Russ and his judgment and feel so fortunate that I have been able to work with him as well as Kristina and the entire firm.

Russ and his entire staff are superb! Not only did he help me during the filing of my case, but he was also available to assist me after my case had been discharged. My case was very complex and I often found myself becoming very frustrated with the entire process. However, no matter how many emails I would send or calls I would make to Russ and his staff not once was I made to feel like a bother or a nuisance. Instead, I would be advised to remain calm and that everything would work out. Fortunately, it did and I cannot thank Russ enough! I won't say filing bankruptcy was a easy decision to make, but Russ definitely made the entire process feel realistic and not once did I ever feel alone or unaware; I was totally prepared for everything. Thank you...thank you...thank you!!!
Barbie Lieber, Chapter 7 bankruptcy Attorney
Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
With pleasure, I endorse this lawyer. I can see from Russell DeMott's answers to questions posted on Avvo and client reviews, Russell is an extremely knowledgeable, responsive, genuine and compassionate bankruptcy attorney, four qualities that are critical when choosing a bankruptcy attorney. He would be a wonderful lawyer to choose for a bankruptcy filing.
