I grew up in Spartanburg, and remained in Spartanburg until I graduated from Wofford College with a degree in psychology. At the suggestion of some friends, I decided to attend law school at the University of South Carolina. After finishing law school, I was given the opportunity to serve as a law clerk for Circuit Judge Kenneth G. Goode. Following the one-year clerkship, I moved back to Spartanburg and worked as an assistant solicitor under Trey Gowdy in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. I joined the private practice of Burts Turner & Rhodes in 2007. While I practice in multiple areas of law, the majority of my practice is in Family Law [divorce, custody, support], Probate [wills, trusts, and estates], Civil Litigation [contracts, construction law and real estate disputes] and Personal Injury.

The calm in the storm
William has been my rock during my divorce. His calming demeanor and knowledge of family law is second to none!!! His fee schedule is very reasonable and I feel like his services thus far are well worth every penny!! I have used William's father Richard for estate proceedings, land transfers, Wills and closings and I am very confident in every part of this firm!!

Unhappily ever after
I first met William roughly 6 years ago - when your 6 year old child speaks of moving to another country with his mother (my ex-wife) one must move quickly. Bill dropped everything for me and moved swiftly to prevent the move from taking place (notifying Colombian officials, the State Department, even bringing in the FBI when we were denied an emergency hearing). That issue has since been resolved, but this has been an ongoing battle for me, and Bill has been there every step of the way. There is no win-win in family court (especially in Greenville), but Bill has done the absolute best for me and my son - he has been a confidant, a counselor, a guide through these rough times (anyone who has been through a nasty divorce can relate) and most of all, a good friend. I'll never step foot in a courtroom without Bill by my side.

Mr. William Rhodes
Mr. Rhodes took my case where we were doing a rent to own home and problems came up. The actual owner had someone else over everything and the paperwork I had was with that person. That person passed and then the original owner decided that there wasn't any contact to sell the home as rent to own. The owner was making my life miserable. Mr. Rhodes advice on what I could do was excellent, honest and turned out to be the best. Every time I had question I got a quick response. We won the case and I now own my home. This was not an ordinary case and not many attorney's would have took the case. I am very pleased with Mr. Rhodes.

Hyatt Legal Fee Dispute
Found Bill excellent in support of his father, Richard Rhodes, regarding representing myself and two relatives in a lawyer fee dispute over fees. His support of our legal dispute was timely and beneficial to our case. Research conducted associated with our case was thorough. Presentations he made at court in our behalf were excellent alone and in combination with the work done by Richard Rhodes. I think Bill will be even a better lawyer with more experience.

Excellent attorney
I found Mr. Rhodes to be knowledgeable and honest. He was patient and answered all my questions. Most of all, he treated me as an equal and made sure I understood the legal system as it pertained to my case. I am very satisfied with the work he did for me. I would definitely contact him if I need his expertise in the future.

Outstanding Counselor
In addition to his extraordinary knowledge of law, Bill has the innate ability to interact effectively in a variety of interpersonal relationships and is a master of negotiation. In our first interaction, regarding a wayward son, I observed extreme and sincere compassion and benefited from his technical expertise and diligence in bringing the matter to a favorable conclusion. Bill has a Masters in Psychology that came into play a few years later when I found myself in a broken marriage. At this time he again presented a sincere interest in my well being and brought closure to that awful time in my life, preserving all my assets. Insurance company denied claim on a theft at our business
Mr. Rhodes was very knowledgeable of our rights as a policy holder with an insurance company. They denied a claim for a robbery at our place of business. With a letter and some phone calls, the insurance company agreed to pay our claim. He was a fantastic contact in a distressing situation for our business and able to get results in a timely manner for us. I cannot express enough, our pleasure with this experience with Mr. Rhodes as our representative. Trustworthy is the first thing that comes to mind in our dealing with him. Highly recommend him as one of Spartanburg's best resources.

Wonderfully Helpful!
Mr. Rhodes and his associates were very helpful in my divorce proceedings. Having to do everything long distance made things more difficult but they made it much easier and more comfortable for me. If I ever have legal business in Spartanburg again, I would definitely call Mr. Rhodes.
