I got a 110 in a 55 mph zone in Sylva North Carolina. My license was suspended at the time but I have since got it reinstated. Asst D.A said he cant reduce it. What are my options?
Your best case "realistic" scenario is to get this taken care of in a way that leaves you suspended for only one reason. Currently, you are possibly facing multiple suspensions. If you have multiple suspensions, you will not be eligible for a limited driving privilege. I practice in Sylva, and our office would be glad to speak to you about this.See question
I was pulled over for texting while driving last year and was unable to pay the fees so my DL got revoked. Recently, I was pulled over again because a police officer scanned my license plate and it showed the driver didn't have a valid license. Th...
It may be as simple as paying off the old ticket and then going to DMV to get your license back, but it may not, especially if you have had any other tickets- I have seem some people get longer revocations after paying off the wrong ticket or paying them off in the wrong order.See question
can i still get a job with traffic ticket fta or when they run background its going to come up
You might be able to get a better job if you get your license back, as well. Contact a local traffic lawyer and get this thing fixed, friend. Clearing the FTA and taking care of the underlying charge is the first step. These things have a tendency to snowball if you dont take care of them as soon as you can.See question
What does it mean to consent to revocation?
Often, consenting to the violation "greases the wheels" to a modification of probation that does not necessarily include straight activation of your sentence. Especially when there is no real argument about whether or not you violated probation.See question
i got a dui in nc and i live in sc my conviction date was sept 29 2014 i didnt blow and they didnt process my blood work i just plead quilty. how does this affect my driving privledges in south carolina
I am not licensed in SC, but I handle a lot of DWIs in Polk County for SC drivers. What others have answered is correct, and I imagine SC already knows about the DWI- you might check to see if they show you are revoked- you may not have received the letter. You will probably have to get SR-22 insurance and complete the ADSAP classes. But before NC is cleared, you will also need to get a North Carolina DWI assessment and comply with their recommendations. MY suggestion is to get the NC assessment first, then follow their instructions and take the SC classes- then report back to the NC assessing agency. I know this seems complicated, but its the way you keep from having to duplicate the DUI classes- each state will require them, and if you do not satisfy both states, you will not get your license back.See question
He wrote a county summons for 3 MPH over Cost $50.00? Try to say the truck plate was not for this truck. Because he entered the wrong plate numbers. Had to prove it with the Regs. card. Everything on this truck is in top shape and just passed NCDO...
Sounds like the officer who wrote you is a jerk, or you were to him. If you were not, I would hope the DA would throw this out. If not, as others have suggested, seek a free consultation with a traffic attorney in the area- if you have a CDL, you know even a minor violation can hurt.See question
How do I defend myself against a ticket for having an open beer can in my car, when the contents was not beer or any other alcohol in the can?
You are also charged with a moving violation. Which means drivers license "costs", and insurance increases also come with a conviction. In addition, did you know that you lose your license for a second violation of the open container law? The ticket and cost of court is only a portion of the total "cost" of the violation.See question
I can get the charge dismissed once i complete the classes. I never had a criminal background
Traffic matters should not affect a domestic deferral agreement. Some traffic matters are also misdemeanors, though, so depending on the terms, a very serious traffic offense, like hit and run or speeding to elude could be a problem.See question
I was on us 74. It was open country on a clear day with light traffic.
I practice in Polk County. They have court once or twice a week, and you can always find me there. You would be revoked if you plead guilty to that as charged. The DA will usually make a modification of the charge, but may have requirements (such as driving school) you will have to complete. I may be able to get you around that, though. Feel free to call my office free and we can discuss the options.See question
It says I am required to appear in court. Can I go to court before my court date, bring my driving record which is 100% clear, talk with the DA and try for a dismissal or at least a prayer for judgment? Or do I have to wait until my court date? Wh...
As my colleagues have indicated, you are not likely to have the option of talking to the DA before court, or getting the charge dismissed. As charged, a finding of guilt would result in a suspension of your license by the DMV, and a substantial increase in your insurance rates. A good traffic lawyer will save you money in the long run by working out a reduction or modification that will keep it off your insurance and keep your license from being revoked. You can, of course, go to court yourself, and negotiate with the DA on your court date, but honestly, for the very reasonable fee most traffic attorneys charge, it is hardly worth the stress, especially when they may know ways to get modifications you may not be aware of that could help you even more in the long run.See question
