A cut above the rest

Last summer I was traveling down to Topsail, NC from my home state of WV. About an hour away, I arrived at one of the most sophisticated “check points” I’ve ever encountered, in the middle of nowhere might I add. I was asked to pull over, step out of the car, and submit to a breathalyzer test. I had ...had a couple of beers when I stopped to fuel up and grab a bite to eat, this resulted in me blowing a 0.08, which is the limit but in NC that’s a DWI on the spot. I couldn’t believe I found myself in handcuffs in BFE, needless to say the vacation was lackluster knowing that my life had just taken a turn for the worse. When I arrived back home I had countless letters from lawyers all over NC waiting for me. By total chance Matt Silva was the first and last lawyer I checked out on Avvo, and after reading pages of reviews, it sounded like Matt was a perfect fit to help me tackle this thing head on. A huge concern of mine was that I lived nearly 8 hours away in WV and there was no way I’d be able to continually make that trip to deal with things. I was very impressed with Matt Silva from our very first telephone consultation. He assured me that he would be able to show up on my behalf to court and file various continuances for me, until a final court date was set. He listened to every thing I had to say, never made me feel rushed, took as much time as was needed to comb through all details in my case, and ultimately made me feel a loads better about my situation. His fees were very reasonable and I was able to make payments each month until my balance was paid in full (this was huge, no way did I have that kind of money to put upfront all at once). I was always contacted when something was happening with the case and when the date for my trial was set. When it was finally time for me to head back down to Jones County, NC, I felt very prepared and in the loop as Matt took the time to once again go through everything with me and assured me that we had a good chance with our case. It wasn’t until I saw Matt in action, that I realized he was a cut above the rest and REALLY knew what he was doing in the courtroom. Ultimately we won and the charges were dropped against me!! Life changer in the biggest way, I was nearly speechless when the judge announced that he was siding with the defense. Granted I had about as good of a case as you could ask for when it comes to DWI charges, but it could have just as easily gone the other way for me if I had some less qualified lawyer. Matt Silva cares about your case and it shows from start to finish in the way that he handles the case - highly motivated to win - Matt I can’t thank you enough for everything that you did for me, you’re one hell of a lawyer. Misdemeanor

Matt Silva is a very diligent and competent lawyer. I am extremely lucky to have had him as my lawyer. He accomplished the optimal outcome: Case Dropped. Matt and his awesome team were always available to talk to me over the phone and were very responsive to my e-mails, always providing me with advic...e and peace of mind I needed. My case was probably one of his smaller cases, but he took the same time and commitment as if he we're dealing with one of his bigger cases. I truly have no words to say how pleased I am with his work. Mr. Silva provided me with an impressive performance - I'm extremely relieved with with the result.

Excellent service

Having a past employment history in Law Enforcement, I have experienced a work relationship with a variety of Attorneys all over North Carolina. When I found myself on the other side of the court room I had no idea of how to handle my case. The Judge gave me Mr. Matthew Silva's business card, that r...ight there should have told me I was getting the best. Mr. Silva thoroughly explained things to me in detailed, told me my next step and offered his assistance in anything I needed. After meeting with Mr. Silva I saw things in a entirely different light and the stress eased off. Through the process I knew my case was in the best hands. I can not thank Mr. Silva enough for not only handling my case but keeping me informed every step of the way. Didn't give up

I hired Me Silva to represent me in a DWI case in Onslow Co. I had wrecked my motorcycle a block from my house. The police came to my house 1 1/2 hours after the wreck, as I was making calls to have the bike moved and myself taken to the hospital. I had a couple of beers in my own home during that ti...me, but they gave me a breath test anyway - in my own kitchen! I only blew a .07 then a .08.. but that was from two beers after the wreck - I was charged and arrested anyway. I hired Mr. Silva and he was very professional and very informative. I had moved back to Charlotte, so I have been 5 hours away from Jacksonville. Mr. Silva handled things for me and I didn't have to make the drive except one time. When we did not get the ruling we wanted in district court, Mr. Silva appealed my case to superior. Even though the case had dragged out over a year, he was still always diligent and available for any questions I had. Then today, he brokered a good plea bargain for me - again without me having to be there. This was very helpful, as I have my father's funeral to attend on Friday. Instead of a damaging DWI, I plead to the lower wreckless driving charge. Now, I can go to the DMV and have my license returned since that charge was dismissed today. It's my birthday today, and that news this morning was the best gift I could have received, hands down. I highly recommend him - and his office staff are always friendly and helpful. The Best

Got a serious Dui charge!! Charged with a .13 with kids in the car. Not good. Was looking at a minimum of 30 days in jail and lose of lisenece for a year. Mr silva made something happen that day in court that most lawyers wish they could do. I walked out of there with only 24 hrs community service an...d I am able to have a privilege licsence for a year , instead of loosing it totally for a year. I was shocked , my wife was shocked of how he worked the court house. He is truly great at what he does, and it was worth every penny!!No need to get a 2nd opinion, he will make it happen!
