Mark D. Gott has dedicated a significant part of his law practice to protecting elderly adults from exploitation, abuse and neglect. Mark helps family members regain control of the uncertainty that often surrounds these very complicated matters. Mark has been involved in hundreds of incompetency proceedings, and he's seen every possible wrinkle. If you find out your loved one is being exploited by a power of attorney, neighbor or family member, call Mark D. Gott. He offers a first time free in person consultation where together, you can go over what you need to know to protect your loved one and regain control.
Mark has also been appointed in over fifty North Carolina counties by the various Clerks of Court in those counties to serve as guardian ad litem for unknown, minor or incompetent heirs in foreclosure or estate proceedings and other court cases.
Additioanlly, Mark serves as either trustee or Guardian of the Estate for several elderly adults. In that capacity, he makes sure their bills are paid and assets protected and preserved for their use.
A significant part of Mark's practice involves foreclosure actions. Mark has represented lenders and has served as Substitute Trustee to bring foreclosure proceedings in commercial and residential foreclosure matters, including both the Epicenter and Ballantyne Village foreclosure cases in Charlotte.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
Mark Gott is an excellent attorney and a gentleman. Drawing from his experience as a judicial hearing officer with the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court, Mark provides excellent representation in the areas of guardianship, foreclosure and related areas. Mark justly has the respect of his colleagues for his conscientious work and compassionate service to his clients. I refer a number of clients to Mark and have only heard positive feedback from Mark's representation. I recommend him highly as a trustworthy and competent attorney.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
I recently worked with Mark on a very complex case involving difficult questions concerning the status of beneficiaries to an Estate. Mark was extremely professional throughout, and very thoughtful in his approach to this matter in which he skillfully represented a young child. The representation extended not just to what was best for the child in the immediate context of the litigation, but also as to what was going to be best for her long-term support and financial assistance through her youth and into adulthood. I was extremely impressed with the thoughtfulness, diligence and professionalism that Mark displayed in his representation.
