RUN WHILE YOU CAN

I hired them to represent me they postponed a few times and did get my ticket dismissed but one of the court dates their attorney failed to appear now I have -4 points and a failure to appear on my license. I called and was told they would call back but never did they did email me and told me to bad ...so sad and that I can fix it myself even tho it was their attorney that failed to appear

Poor representation

I have no points on my drivers license and was recently ticketed for not changing lanes for a emergency vehicle. The vehicle was a tow truck and I admit I had no idea a tow truck with a flashing light fell under this law. The officer was very nice and told me because I was courteous he was writing a ...note to recommend to the court I be given a prayer for judgement. I hired Mr. Hatley to handle my case and was told they would request a prayer for judgement. On my court date they called to tell me they had continued my case and were recommending I do 24 hours of community service in order to receive a prayer for judgement. My husband spoke to Mr. Hatley who called the court attorney and got a rude response of, "We aren't the ones who got the ticket." I wrote to Mr. Hatley again questioning why I was being required to perform so many community service hours when I have no previous violations and the officer had already told me he was recommending a clean prayer for judgement. I mentioned what a hardship this presents for myself and others like myself who have jobs, families etc... I mentioned that I have a son with autism and 2 elderly parents I care for. I ultimately did the service hours and got the prayer for judgement. Mr. Hatley didn't respond directly to my email but did call me to defend their representation. I think this firm has a huge convenient online system and in doing so is not handling cases individually but lumping people into masses. I feel my case could have been handled better. Lawyers I have spoken to since have told me with a clean record I should have either received a prayer for judgement with no community service required or for 24 hours service been able to preserve my prayer for judgement. I think Mr. Hatley does care but his online firm has grown beyond his ability to look at cases individually.
