I had a DUI and hired Parrish for 2'500. I was in court for over a year (for no real reason, I was hit with the same charges they presented on day 1). During the case, Mr Parrish didn't even remember who I was when I called or visited his office and his rhetoric when speaking about my case was so vague, almost as if he hadn't really taken time to look into it. I knew I was guilty and would be charged, that was expected. The lack of interest in my case was obvious. He barely spoke up for me and when he did it sounded like he was grasping as nothing. It was clear he was only looking for a paycheck and had no interest in truly helping me.
That's not the kicker. It's now 2017 and the case has come back to haunt me again because of a failure on his office to keep me informed on my case. This was how he handled my case from day 1 to the now. So after 6 full years of thinking my case is done and in the past, it's not. My drivers license is revoked, I'm losing jobs, can't drive, the list of misfortunes goes on and on. His failure to keep up with my case and inform me completely about what is going on and what I must do has all but ruined my life. It couldn't have come at a worse time and totally unexpected.
Now, 6 years later... I've come to find out I still owe money to NC and still have to attend ASAP classes in NC. Parrish told me directly in person, face to face, that I could take my ASAP in VA and have the credentials sent over, which I did and it cost me another $400 for the ASAP classes. I did my community service. I paid all my court fines. Now 6 years later I'm still being charged with a DUI, still have more fines to pay and have to take another ASAP class out of state (Because apparently I CAN'T do my ASAP in my home state which I was lied to about).
Don't hire this guy. He came highly recommended and I was never impressed with his attention to myself or the case. I let all that slide and was finally through with it but now his failure has caught up to me again. There is absolutely no excuse for not informing me of the full details of my case nor was it right for him to tell me it was all settled and taken care of.
Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. Represent yourself. Anything but hiring this guy.

Mr. Perrish was also highly recommended to me out of Winston Salem; however, I have never received such poor service in my life. After all, service and a specialized education about our judicial system is what we, the clients, are paying for isn't it? We are paying for a service in which we are unable to provide ourselves. First, I was never contacted about my first court date and constantly had to call the office only to receive a voicemail for two weeks straight. When I finally reached his receptionist I explained I would like better communication from my attorney and staff, as I have paid them literally a few thousand dollars to help me with my case. Mr. Perrish turned it around on me as if his staff's incompetence was my probelm and I should just remain in the dark until minutes before I go in front of a judge. He was always unorganized and flipping through folders at the last minute like a teenager cramming for test 5 minutes before class. Mr. Perrish also on multiple occasions forgot my folder completely. It always felt like my case was the last thing on his mind and he could not care less about my verdict and what happened to me. His constant cigarette smoking and admission to me that he manipulates judges by helping them get elected was highly unprofessional and frankly a huge eye-opener about our current judicial system and how corrupt it is. If you decide to hire Carl Perrish, prepare to work with an outdated, overrated, condescending, over-priced attorney that will most likely leave you in a worse mess than you started with. Like the review before mine, I too have hired another attorney to continue my case.

Look at Mr Parrishes industry rating recognotion. Mr Parrish promises the world but fails to deliver. He was completely unprepared and negligent in a post seperation support hearing. I wasnt even notified of the hearing date. Didnt he realize I could go to the clerks office and get a transcription of the hearing that I wasnt notified about or present at? I heard years ago he was at the top of his game but in my case this is no longer true. When questioned about his incompetency he blamed his staff. I've had to hire another attorney to straighten out the total mess this man created.
