Defending and Protecting Students’ Rights

I always appreciated Nick’s prompt responses and personal attention to all our questions. Nick is a very busy professional but always took the time to keep in touch and made us feel special. His modesty made it easy for us to relate to him. Nick is honest and dependable, and his legal expertise i...n the field of education and all related matters are outstanding. Nick’s priority is his client’s well being, not only legally but personal as well. May Nick be successful in all and every case to defend and protect student’s rights.

Words Cannot Describe How Amazing Nick Is

I reached out to Nicholas Simopoulos when I was having difficulty with a private educational institution denying testing accommodations. So quick background story; I have been getting testing accommodations for well over a good portion of my adult life(over 10 years of accommodations), due to a late ...diagnosed learning disability. For me to progress in my education I have to take a series of examinations in my particular field. Anyone, that has a learning disability(dyslexia, ADHD, etc) or any challenge not experienced by most, understands the extra struggle we face when trying to achieve a goal, a dream. If one was to compare me and my classmates, they have an easier time of grasping concepts than I do, which is why I have been given testing accommodations. If not, I would never be able to achieve my dream that I have worked so hard for. The same accommodations protected under the American Disabilities Act. I had applied through the proper channels to the private entity that is responsible for administering these exams. After 5-6 months of going through the proper protocol, being patient, continuous excuses by this entity, denials and appeals, I decided that this was outside of my league of expertise. I was being ignored and stepped on as if I had no worth in this world. Within our first consultation I was extremely impressed and I hired him. As someone who has worked with several attorneys in the past, Nick is by far the most honest, most ethical, most professional, and most down to earth attorney I have had the privilege of working with. I had several other consultations with attorneys regarding my issue and just with their interactions I knew they were not the one to handle my case. They were not the ones I could TRUST to handle my case as if it was their own. During our consultation, Nick and I, spoke for a minimum of an hour and he laid out my options, he was straightforward and honest, he said to me "you have a case." While other attorneys would say "eh maybe you do, maybe you don't, it's really hard to tell, you're going to have to pay this much for us to really find out." Who has time and money to waste? Hiring Nick was the best thing I ever did. Throughout my ordeal, I was in a very anxious and in a panicked state, which is completely understandable, considering you work extremely hard and invest time and money into one's education, and it is at risk of being lost. Lost because a private entity cares only about their profits and not the value of a person. When I would email Nick, I would get a very quick response, unlike other attorneys "emails will be responded to in 48-72 business hours." He was always updating me on my case, he was always available for questions that would arise, and when I needed reassurance that everything was going to be okay, he was just a phone call away. He was there when I needed him. Long story short, hiring Nick was the best decision I made regarding my circumstance. We Won. When going up against a private entity/corporation, they use bullying tactics to scare the "little guy." They try to scare you into thinking you are a weakling in this dog eat dog world. Nick became my attorney, my ally, and my friend. I stepped onto the legal battlefield with the best of the best, and I was ready to face and overcome any challenge that was thrown my way. We persevered, we won, we kicked their rear ends. He was there, next to me, when I was in a vulnerable and disadvantaged state. He helped me through this entire ordeal, and again, we were victorious. It is my privilege and honor, that a frightening circumstance, allowed us to meet, and develop the relationship that we have today. I recommend Nicholas Simopoulos without any hesitation. You have a legal issue, he is the warrior you need.

Grateful for his guidance and assistance

Nick was highly recommended by another parent from my child's Catholic school in Richmond. We needed an attorney versed in civil rights and education to right a wrong we experienced. This was the 1st time I ever hired a lawyer and was not sure what to expect. He truly exceeded any expectations I had.... He had experience with dealing with the Catholic Schools and thas was impressive. He always kept me abreast of my case and was easily accessible if I had questions. Nick called ne a few weeks after our case was completed, to follow up and to see how the kids were doing at school. He gave me great advice and guidance in dealing with this school in the future. He definitely is empathetic and genuinely concerned. I consider him to be "my" lawyer.
