I have been practicing immigration law with the same office since 2003 and feel very fortunate to be part of such a wonderful profession.  The greatest joy of my position is helping clients fulfill their dreams of uniting with family members, finding a safe haven, escaping abuse, and achieving professional and educational goals.  I put every effort into each case to optimize the chance of success.  I maintain open communication with clients to keep them informed of their case and to set realistic expectations.  I believe that America was founded on the hardwork and sacrifice of immigrants and that this continues to be an essential part of our country's fabric.

Best immigration attorney in VA/DC
Finding a good immigration lawyer like Elizabeth and her team is very hard these days. She is the most Patient, Knowledgeable, Professional and friendly immigration lawyer ever. My experience with this team has been beyond expectations. She did an amazing job on my case and never gave up. It took more than six years to get USICS approve my case but Elizabeth always was there when I needed her. It was a pleasure with her team. I highly recommend her and her team to anyone seeking to secure immigration issue.

very helpful
Elizabeth called me within 5 minutes of submitting the request and she confirmed our thoughts on what was needed for our son's immigration status. (The complication is he is going to university in the UK in september so we wanted to make sure he can get back into the usa on his green card if he has not been natralised by then).

Excellent Experience with Elizabeth
I highly recommend Elizabeth. My husband moved to the United States from New Zealand 2.5 years ago. The residency process seemed quite daunting to us and we were uncertain of what steps to take. After our first meeting with Elizabeth, we felt immensely better. She calmly walked us through the process to apply for a green card/permanent residency and patiently answered all of our questions. She presented a variety of options to us and helped us weigh the pros and cons of each. Elizabeth is extremely knowledgeable and able to explain a complicated process in a manner that is clear and logical. In addition, she is responsive, warm and friendly. My husband and I have nothing but positive things to say about Elizabeth and her firm (Bromberg Kohler Maya and Maschler) - we are so lucky to have had her support and guidance over the past few years.

Top Notch Lawyer!
My wife had a complicated immigration case that kept us in limbo between the US and Canada for a number of years. Elizabeth and her team were unbelievably helpful and supportive. They kept us informed, were extremely approachable, and didn't make any false promises. Elizabeth was also clear on what her area of expertise was and offered to refer us to other lawyers if we had any questions that she wasn't comfortable answering. Everything worked out fine in the end but even if it hadn't we were really happy with how we were being treated and the advice that we were given. Elizabeth really goes above and beyond and responds to emails promptly and at bizarre hours of the day/night just to keep you in the loop. We've dealt with several lawyers and have not encountered anyone like her. We enthusiastically recommend her!

the best of the best
i was really dispirit and disappointed by the USCIS decision to put my adjustment of status (green Card ) application on hold even i got the granted asyle from the office the reason was due to section (212)(a)(3)(b) { inadmissible due to material support to terrorist organization!!} , i waited 1 more year to see if there is any thing to change but unfortunately nothing changed so i decided to hire an attorney to investigate what is going on. 1 year ago ,my friend recommended to me Mr. Richard Bromberg office in the DC [ http://www.bromberglaw.com/ ] , who referred me to his talented partner Elizabeth . Elizabeth took care of every thing , first we got all the papers from the USCIS then we filed an addendum to reconsider their decision. guess what ? i got the waiver and my case has been approved and now i have my Green Card . thanks God , no body will believe me when i say this is was the worst 4 years in my life . thank you Elizabeth you are highly recommended by me to anybody with immigration issues. one more thing is during searching for similar cases on the internet i found people who still inadmissible for 10 years till now . my advice is to ACT FAST , CHOOSE RIGHT , GET IT DONE , HAVE PEACE .

Great Immigration Lawyer!
I was a client of Elizabeth Kohler Maya when I processed my green card application. I was rather intimidated by the amount of paper work required and didn't know whether or not I met the conditions to apply under the EB-1 category. Ms. Kohler Maya was very helpful and made the whole process as painless as possible and kept me fully informed at every step of the way. She was always available and answered emails even on weekends and at night. I would definitely recommend her because of her professionalism and knowledge.

What More Can I Ask>
We started our immigration case by ourselves without a lawyer. We didn’t succeed and restarted it with another lawyer, with whom I was not totally satisfied. A friend referred us to Mr. Richard S. Bromberg’s Law Office. We went and Elizabeth took our case. Elizabeth Ann Kohler is an excellent lawyer who not only knows her profession, but also works hard to help her clients. She knows the law. She listens to, and understands her clients’ ideas and feelings. She made me and my wife so comfortable to the point that we felt like talking to a family member rather than to a lawyer. She really cares and helps. She helped us. Our case succeeded because of Elizabeth’s meticulously professional work. Even if our case had not succeeded, I wouldn’t have had any reservations about her being an excellent lawyer who works hard to help her clients. Elizabeth and her assistant Julia Reeder form an excellent work team. They are very well organized and thorough. They leave no room for errors. Our family is very much grateful to have gotten such an unreserved and caring service. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth to anybody with immigration issues. Liz, you are wonderful and we love you. Thank you.

Contacted, but not used services
Professional, and prompt communication. Willing to help with my case and provide legal advice. The only thing I see is an issue is the $300 consultation fee which I find a bit high.

"I am thrilled to write this endorsement for my colleague, attorney Elizabeth Kohler-Maya. I have collaborated with Elizabeth on a wide variety of immigration cases and I have always been impressed by her expertise and her high ethical standards. Elizabeth is a hard-working, knowledgeable and compassionate immigration lawyer. She is very organized and always takes the time to understand her clients’ needs and to assess a case from all angles before choosing the best strategy. Aside from providing top quality legal representation to her clients, Elizabeth gives back to the community by doing pro bono work and mentoring less experienced immigration attorneys. I am truly fortunate to have Elizabeth as my colleague and mentor and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an outstanding immigration attorney."
