I was injured in the accident and my vehicle was “totaled” (destroyed). A claim representative from the offender’s insurance compony contacted m...e and appeared to give assurance that the insurance company would make full restitution for my destroyed auto and pay all medical expenses related to injuries I received in the accident. I worked as a consultant for a defense contractor for one week, less than 5 business days, in 2010. We parted ways when I was offered a full-time position closer to my hometown around the same time. I found out a year later, in 2011, that the firm continued to deposit money into my bank account, even... after executing a formal exit process. The letter they sent me was very aggressive and threatened to take legal actions if I don't return the funds immediately. It was a large sum of money and at the time I was not in the habit of frequently checking my bank account. What made matters worse is the distance and location of my financial institution: the closest federal credit union was over 25 miles away and located in the basement of a high security facility.
