I was pulled over and charged with reckless driving for going 22 miles over the speed limit of 55 while passing on I-66. In Virginia, this is a criminal offense. A criminal conviction would have been personally and professionally devastating for me. I selected Kyle over the other 25+ lawyers based on the letter he sent and our initial interview. He negotiated a reduced charge of improper driving, which is a lesser offense than simple speeding. I recommend him without reservation, and if I needed an attorney again (which I hope I don't!) I would hire him immediately.

Mr. Kyle Manikas is probably the best attorney in Fairfax. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone facing a reckless driving or other serious traffic-related charge. After being recently charged with reckless driving (by speed), I read reviews of numerous attorneys, talked to a few on the phone, and sat in on actual traffic court sessions in Fairfax. It became clear to me that it would be very important to find an attorney who was extremely experienced and familiar with the policies, processes, prosecutors, and judges within Fairfax. Without doubt, Mr Kyle Manikas is that attorney. In addition, he possesses a professional demeanor and exudes a personal confidence that is palpable. His upfront approach and polite yet assertive personal style brings something to the table that other attorneys lack. His skills, abilities, and personal traits were, I believe, of key importance in bringing about a very positive outcome in my case. What began for me as a criminal offense (reckless driving) ended up as a minor traffic violation (failure to obey a highway sign). This result exceeded my expectations. I would recommend him to anyone facing a serious traffic infraction or criminal charge.

Best lawyer in Fairfax. Criminal charges should never be taken lightly, and Mr. Manikas is worth the expense. He produces the best results. For the past several months I have been constantly anxious about by impending court date. Mr. Manikas was able to convince the police officer and the prosecutor to not pursue charges against me. I was in and out of court faster than anyone. Do everything Mr. Manikas recommends before court, and he will do the rest.

I hardly ever write reviews, but after the representation that I received from Mr. Manikas, I believe that to say his services warrants positive feedback would be a gross understatement. I was faced with two charges that would have greatly altered my life direction and put a major dent on any future advancements in my life and my career. I was charged with a DWI 2nd offense (carries a mandatory minimum of 10 days in jail and a loss of license for 3 years with restricted driving privileges after 1.5 years) and a Refusal to Blow on a Second Offense (also a criminal charge that carries a hard loss of license for 3 years). Basically, I was facing 6 years of suspended license, two criminal charges on my record, and jail time. The prosecutor wasn't willing to offer a plea deal that was even remotely attractive, which led to my case going to trial. The trial was not only lengthy, but intense as both sides presented their arguments and examinations as well as a video of my stop and arrest. Throughout the process, Mr. Manikas not only displayed a thorough knowledge of the law, but his aggressive yet professional approach to countering not only the prosecutor but the officer as well. In the end, both charges were dismissed and I am able to move on with my life. Hiring a good lawyer may be pricey but it's worth every penny. Not only for the sake of my driving privileges and my freedom, but financially as well. By being found not guilty, I don't have to spend money on high court fines, ASAP classes, or interlock maintenance.

I'm from out of state visiting friends in Fairfax, VA on June 15, 2014. After dinner when I was driving back to my friend's place I got a DUI/DWI & Refusal in Fairfax, VA. I was very much worried because of this 1st offence DUI charge on me. Then I did some research in AVVO to find a very good lawyer who can get the best possible solution. I found few lawyers and they were all expensive and did not have so many good reviews. Then I found Mr. Manikas with several good reviews and decided to speak to him. The first phone conversation with him gave me a big confidence and I decided to go with him as my representative. He was so honest and told me that it could take few continuances to get a good outcome in my case and asked me to be prepared for that. Then after 2 continuances, my both cases got completely dismissed on my third court appearance. I'm so grateful for his representation. It's a great relief now. His staffs were very prompt in communicating with me. I'd definitely recommend Mr. Manikas 100% for any DUI representations. From my experience, I'd say he's one of the best lawyers that anyone can have for their DUI case. He was totally honest in explaining the court processes and did not exaggerate or sugarcoat his words. Thank you very much Mr. Manikas.

Kyle represented me on a particularly troublesome Reckless Driving charge in which I was going 40 mph over the posted speed limit. I had free consultations with every highly-rated attorney in the DMV area and the feedback I received was unanimous: I was going to serve time in jail.
That was until I met Kyle and his team at Manikas law. Kyle took the time to meet with me in person, review the details of my case and discuss the charge. He told me (much to my amazement, and a bit to my cynical disbelief) that he thought he could keep me from serving time.
The ensuing weeks before my court date, I executed on the things Kyle told me to take care of and interacted with his staff to ensure all of my paperwork and details were in order. On the date of my court appearance, we faced an uphill battle against a strict judge substituting in from a neighboring legal district, a prosecutor under pressure to tighten up punishments on offenders like myself, and a police officer who (rightly so) was doing his job in pursuing judgment against me.
Kyle quickly discerned what needed to occur during the morning of my court appearance (conversations with the police officer and prosecutor) and spent the better part of 5 hours making these conversations occur. While I waited in the atrium, he got to work understanding the prosecutor's strategy, getting a lesser charge I was facing fully dismissed, and orienting the day to move in our favor.
Kyle worked out a deal with prosecutor that I never thought was possible - I had to pay a nominal fine. That's it. No license suspension, no jail time. The judge approved the settlement, and my nightmarish ordeal was over.
Through the whole experience, Kyle could not have been more professional, discerning and effective in his execution. I HIGHLY recommend Kyle to anyone facing legal trouble and am so thankful that I turned to him instead of any other attorney!

I am at a loss for words, but am overwhelmingly compelled to give Mr. Manikas a rave review; but no words can describe how pleased I am with his services.
I was arrested for a DWI and when discussing with a friend, he told me about Mr. Manikas and how, when awaiting his own case to be heard, he witnessed Mr. Manikas have his clinet's case dismissed. He spoke very highly of Mr. Manikas and strongly recommended him even though he wasn't his own attorney; only by what he witnessed his day in court.
Ironically, Mr. Manikas' adverisement brochure was the first one, of too many, I received in the mail. That omen led me to make an appointment and meet Mr. Manikas for myself. Mr. Manikas immediately came acrros as trustworhty and very knowledgeable. Unlike most attorneys, Mr. Manikas didn't give me worse-case scenarios in hopes that I would just be happy with the eventual outcome; he let me know right up front he wanted my case and would do better for me than any other attorney. Or, at least, that's how I felt after retaining him.
Mr. Manikas was very responsive to my phone calls and kept me informed at every stage; even telling me things three or four times for my own edification and clarification.
Once we went to trial, Mr. Manikas turned on a personality I had not seen until that time, that resonated throughout the court room. He seemed to have good comraderie with the prosecutor and the judge (Is that even possible?) but I think that is because they respect his approach and knowledge of the law.
Mr. Manikas studied the facts of my case to the point one would think he may have actually been there. With his tenacious approach and exceeding knowledge of the law, Mr. Manikas was able to get my case dismissed. I am forever greatful!
Now, I am certain Mr. Manikas can't get every DWI case dismissed, but I guarantee you he will get you the best possible outcome that can be attained.

My son got himself in a jam with a DWI and a refusal to take a breathalyzer; frankly, as a federal agent with thirty years experience I was of the opinion that defensively he was in a hopeless position. Though we had a few names of lawyers on our own, we began receiving promotions from attorneys once my son's name appeared in the court system. I looked them over but threw them all out, except Kyle's. What caught my eye with Kyle's information was his years as a prosecutor in Fairfax, experience that I felt was critically important. Though he was most definatlely not the least expensive of the potentials we considered, once we met with him we decided he was our choice.
Court date came and we were on pins and needles, the case before ours resulted in jail time for the defendent (also a young student, though over 21) so we were preparing for the worst and hope began to dwindle. As our trial began, the prosecutor attempted to lay out her case and examine the arresting officer, but was cut off repeatedly by Kyle's objections of "here say, irrelevant, conjecture, inadmissable"...and one after the other the judge sustained his objections...to my complete surprise. My son's case was unique for a DWI in that it was not actually a moving violation, rather a fender bender in a parking lot where he then went into his nearby girlfriends house before the police arrived. Kyle locked in on the issue of an illegal search, detailing how/why the arresting police officer's entry into this residence violated the basic constitutional protection against illegal search. As the prosecutor continued to attempt to advance her argument and build her case, Kyle just as adamently kept objecting to her attempts to introduce additional elements as irrelevant, because the initial entry into the residence to speak with my son was illegal. Long and interesting but the short story...the judge agreed and dismissed the case on the basis of the constitutional protection against illegal search - anything determined after that point was inadmissable.
I was absolutely blown away by Kyle's defense; his performance in the courtroom was professional but aggressive, his command of the constitution's protections and law was superb and finally, his reading of the judge and prosecutor spot on. Based on my observations of the judge's reaction to Kyle's defense, I believe he was rightly impressed as well...and truth be told, I think the prosecutor learned something that day as well.
Bottom line: Though slightly more expensive than his peers, Kyle Manikas will leave no stone unturned in your defense, will not promise what he can't deliver, and ensure that he has exhausted every legal option in your defense. I cannot recommend him highly enough. And honestly, I was expecting my son to be convicted and even if he had been convicted...after hearing Kyle's passionate defense in the courtroom, I would still be providing a positive review.

You know those movies where the hotshot lawyer lays out the facts and argues the law as if they wrote it. Well this was that in real life. I approached a police officer to ask about my girlfriend who had been pulled over a block away from my parked vehicle. I was then convinced I had to take sobriety test (which I passed), then a pbt (failed that part) and was booked for DWI. Someone I knew suggested a lawyer she had used before, but that lawyer didn't work in Fairfax. He suggested Mr. Manikas. It's one of the best suggestions I ever got. Of course I did my research and came upon reviews like this; however, I was still beyond nervous. As a cleared professional this isn't something I wanted on my record. He was completely honest with me every step of the way and was quick on getting back to me, but until you actually see him do his thing in the court room... let just say I'm glad he was on my side. Anyway he got my case dismissed. Truly an amazing lawyer.

Mr. Manikus clearly described how my case would proceed and what was necessary to achieve a positive outcome. Every aspect of my case was handled professionally and proceeded as planned. I highly recommend Mr. Manikus.
