I am a Cancer Patient. I informed his assistant that I would be in the hospital for most of the day and I indicated that 3pm would be the best time for me. Despite providing this information, his assistant still set up the appointment for 12:30. I paid $150.00 Consultation Fee and since I was not consulted, I requested that my money be returned to me. Now they refused to return my money. I have meager funds and this has become a real problem. If I took anyone's money, I would be thrown in jail. However, what happens when the reverse transpires? It is not fair for me to simply lose my hard-earned money. Dishonest attorney.

I retained Mr. Ostendorf, hereby known as JO, to represent me in a legal malpractice lawsuit, in which I was illegally evicted from a house I owned. In initially talking with JO, he convinced me he had copious experience in dealing with such matters and could "Get me $100k!". Frankly, at $100k, this figure did not begin to compensate me for the financial and emotional losses I endured. Nonetheless, I retained JO and we began the process and previously provided an excellent review on this website. Regrettably, from JO's initial filings, the opposing parties literally shredded his documents and found an easy way out of their obligations. It became quite obvious JO was in over his head. Some THREE YEARS later, we, naturally, lost the case...much to the surprise of JO. Please know and understand, JO was paid for his work; which had NO ECONOMIC VALUE! I am now working with replacement counsel to file a legal malpractice lawsuit against JO for his failures in handling my matters appropriately. It is my opinion, that you can do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere for an attorney, as JO is most likely not going to adequately represent you.

This attorney is incredible! A few years ago Mr. Ostendorf helped me with a foreclosure mess. First, he stopped the foreclosure in Harford County. Then he turned around and sued the mortgage company in Baltimore City. That court initially threw the case out, but he appealed and got it back on track. Shortly afterwards it settled. So I got to keep my house and more!

Mr. Ostendorf handled a divorce matter for me. Before I retained Mr. Ostendorf, my ex-husband was fighting over everything. Mr. Ostendorf was able to calm everything down, and got us into a good separation agreement.

I used him in a consumer/foreclosure matter. He was honest about what to expect at the initial consultation, and did not try to sell as hard as a lot of other attorneys. He won my case against a bank for me, we got a settlement and saved my home.
