John C. Keating

Mr. Keating was the executor and lawyer of record to handle my cousin's estate when she passed. My cousin was someone who was very organized in her accounts, and her estate was not complicated at all. My cousin passed away almost 4 years ago and Mr. Keating STILL has not finished settling her estate.... He told us that he would provide detailed accountings of the settlement process as things progressed and would keep us appraised of his findings. He has done none of this. He has failed to provide any documentation to account for his services and fees which he claims will be "considerable", and he has yet to disclose what his fees are. He has failed to provide a detailed accounting of my cousin's estate and how the estate was settled. He has failed to account for certain assets that we know were part of my cousin's estate. Attempts to contact him and get an accounting of his activities regarding this estate have failed. He advised us in 2007 to file extensions on our taxes so we could deduct his attorney's fees for settling the estate. He never provided us with the accounting of his fees. It is now 2009 and we are still waiting. He is not taking our repeated phone calls. We live out of state, so dealing by phone has been our only option. It is beyond unacceptable that it has taken nearly 4 years to settle an estate that was very simple and very organized. I do not recommend him for any reason.
