Micah has been my attorney for a number of years. He has always been respectful. thoughtful and above all, honest. That is what I look for in any business relationship. That shows me that he is not " all about the money". Micah represented me in an employment case and it took a very long time. He never gave up at any time. I did work with other attorneys in his firm however, that is what it is about in a team environment. God forbid should anything happen along the way. I think it is a great idea to include others. Everyone can then be on the same page. I also went to him with a family estate issue as well as a medical billing and coding problem. We can't always have our way but I will say this, I can be sure I will understand what the law says about matters that I bring to him especially if there is nothing he can do to help. I will understand why. There was only one time when things did not go my way. But it was not because he did not try for me.
I have seen some of the other reviews that are, shall we say, less than glowing? I have to whole heartedly and respectfully disagree with those people. We cannot make everyone happy that is clear but I will say that I endorse Micah and his team. I will always turn to him for legal advice when I need it. I am grateful for his knowledge and expertise in the matters that I bring to him.
Thank you Lippman, Sempsker and Salb for being my attorneys!
Lippman Semsker & Salb helped me get paid for work performed
Micah Salb and Mary Kuntz worked patiently with me to help get money due me for a web development contract. They were persistent and explored different possible strategies, and finally got my former employer to pay some of what was owed to me and sign a promissory note for the rest. My former employer is a weasel (I think the legal term is "bad actor"), having repeatedly failed to pay several other employees as well, and coming up with endless excuses. I do not believe I would have seen any payment had I not contracted the services of Lippman Semsker & Salb.

Excellent family lawyer for estate planning
We have used Micah Salb as a family lawyer for estate planning (wills, guardianship, health directives) and would highly recommend him. Micah was knowledgable and responsive, and provided us with realistic and helpful advice in navigating the issues related this area. We appreciate his wit and directness, and look forward to using Micah and his firm for any related issues in the future.

Knowledgeable and Patient
Micah provided us with excellent advice in developing our wills, trust, and custodial arrangements. Where he really shines is in patiently guiding clients through the tricky issues and sometimes difficult decision-making process involved in estate planning. He was sensitive to a few unique aspects of our situation, and proposed some very helpful ideas for how to accomplish our goals.

Lamda associate
Shannon represented me before the District Court in the District of Columbia as well as the city goverment to have my birth record correctly amended to reflect a change of gender. I believe him competent to handle all issues involving transgender rights.

Not JUST Another Lawyer
Shannon Micah Salb is one extraordinary attorney. Shannon was into my case to provide the best representation that he could, AND he did. He is, certainly, a superb writer, a powerful speaker, and a smart negotiator.
During the time that Mr. Salb provided me with representation, I trusted his careful and cautious instincts. He never took anything for granted. Mr. Salb was not interested in wasting my time and did not waste his precious time. Salb is not a lawyer that runs up the billable hours. He does not do this because he gets results through his talents. Salb was careful to not waste my money and he talked with me about expenses that might be incurred by my case.
The opposing counsel was with a large impressive law firm. I sensed that Mr. Salb was neither intimidated nor cowed by that firm's credentials. Shannon seemed to have great confidence in himself and his lawyerly abilities and skills.
Through the professional relationship that Salb and I maintained, my view of lawyers changed. Mr. Salb demonstrated that superb lawyers are ethical, honest, caring, and win.

Excellent
Micah was a fantastic help to us in our estate planning - exceptionally knowledgable, very trustworthy, offered us just tons of invaluable advice, easy to deal with, very detail oriented and thorough, willing to meet with us at our home, and just a very nice guy. He knows his area of the law inside out. And the entertainment value alone was worth his very reasonable fee. We have since moved away from DC and only wish he was in our area for all our legal needs! You could not find a better attorney for family law and estate planning.

Honesty is essential
Micah provided excellent council during my divorce. He handled all details and negotiated a fair settlement. He was careful to go over each step of the process and outlined all options to ensure my decisions were well informed.

Super Experience !
I engage with Micah Salb now for years and we had a couple of difficult cases to manage and I can only say the best about him.
Professional and timely execution for a fair price - that's all I am looking for.

very pleased
we used Micah to readopt our child (adopted abroad) to get his American citizenship. As we are diplomats living overseas this was a complicated process but he knew the ropes and guided us effectively through the process. Despite a few delays not in his control, the adoption went smoothly without a hitch. Highly recommend.

Knowledgeable, well intentioned, but disorganized
He is knowledgeable and put us at ease during the course of discussing serious matters regarding our will, durable powers of attorney, and trust. However, his attention to details and organization can be lacking as it took us over a year to complete the creation and finalization of our documents. We received a good product in the end, but it took a lot of time and vigilance to ensure our requirements were met. Unfortunately, we can't recommend him.

Poor Service
I would not recommend Micah Salb. He didn't return my phone calls, and I was constantly passed on to one of his junior associates who also wouldn't return my phone calls. Drafts of paperwork was scheduled to be sent to me by certain dates but it took multiple weeks to even receive an electronic copy. He only cares about the money and not really about the client.

Review of Micah Salb
I hired Micah Salb to deal with a family estate matter. After nine months with no resolution, I needed to seek other council.
It’s hard for him to listen to the client’s requests. He is arrogant and confrontational, while blaming the client for not cooperating with him.
He had to be pushed and prodded concerning updates on my case. Days and weeks would be go by without any emails from him.
His billing practices are extremely inefficient. My credit card company had to resolve a disputed bill.

Response from S. SalbAugust 20, 2013
I am surprised and disappointed to see this review, particularly because it appears to not relate to my firm. We have never had any inquiry from a credit card company in any estate matter! The circumstances described here are entirely unfamiliar to me. I do not believe that this reviewer was ever actually a client!
