Great Lawyer!

Mr Lastra is a great lawyer to work with. He is professional, knowledgeable, and well-versed but more than that he was able to really listen to my concerns and try to accommodate. Mr. Lastra represented me in a case to invalidate an unjust Shariah law arbitration award. Mr Lastra was involved in ever...y step of the way and would always educate me on the different options available and their pros and cons. His workmanship really came through as he handled the intersectionality of my complicated case. He was able to present to the judge how the award was both legally faulty and even faulty by Shariah law standards. Although the outcome was not the ideal one - considering how difficult it is to invalidate an arbitration award - his ability to invalidate it on the important issue was commendable. I would recommend Mr. Lastra to others seeking legal help with issues pertaining to family law (divorce, custody, arbitration, etc) and issues with the application of Shariah law.

Too many individuals agree to arbitrate without really understanding the significant rights they are giving away and how much power the arbitrator will have ultimately. Trying to invalidate an unjust and unfair arbitration is not easy. So glad we were able to do so here.

Highly regarded professional/very pleased!

A couple of friends ( in the legal community) strongly recommended Carlos Lastra to me. What I first admired about him is that he listened, truly listened to my situation. He asked thought provoking questions, and deep questions to help me find the best solution and the best way to go about it for me... and my family. He was most professional, articulate and eloquent explaining the legal system to me and how it pertained to my case. He treated me with dignity and always made sure I fully understood so that I could make the best decision for myself. He was also very considerate of time and billed properly. His fee is fair compared to other attorneys of his caliber in the area. He works hard for you and truly cares. He leaves no stone unturned and knows the law precisely and accurately. He can be direct and extremely “assertive” not mean or too aggressive but will work hard to successfully get you the results you expect and deserve. On the flip side, he will tell you the truth why a certain strategy may not work. He is a team player. Everyone in his office is caring, kind and compassionate. If he is not available, his assistant is equally reliable until you can meet with him. I would definitely recommend him without hesitation, and I trust him implicitly.

I couldn't have asked for a better representation.

I had an attorney prior to Mr Lastra and i was not getting positive results. Mr. Lastra initially appeared knowledgeable, when in fact we went beyond knowledge. The preparation of my case was exceptional, his experience contested his knowledge, the application of the law and the understanding of my s...ituation. Mr. Lastra is a professional, who's determination in my difficult divorce case showed me hope of a final resolution. Before i consulted and hired other attorneys, but his strategy showed me that i could win my case as i hoped. A zealous defense is what I needed something that Mr. Lastra provided for me, he is friendly, treated me with dignity, i dont know how i would have coped without his support. For me it was important feel understood; understand my witnesses, my evidence in my native language spanish; with Mr. Lastra i did, he is fully bilingual, and his fees are reasonable consider the caliber of representation that i received. I’m a lawyer with license in my native country and i must say that I deeply and truly admire him I would recommend Mr. Lastra to my close friends, family, to anyone, i cannot imagine another attorney representing me in the future than Mr. Lastra.

Trusted Family Law Attorney

I hired Mr Lastra for a divorce which involved a prenuptial agreement. This agreement was vital for the outcome of my divorce and the other side was trying to have it set aside. Mr Lastra expertly proved to the judge why this was a valid agreement and should be upheld. The judge agreed with all of... his points and upheld the agreement. I believe under the circumstances he made the process as smooth as possible. He was always thoughtful and professional in our dealings. I would highly recommend Mr Lastra for any family law matters.
