Class Act

Hired David for my DWI case. He was honest, forthright, and very easy to communicate with during the entire process. I couldn't imagine going through the process with any other lawyer. David evidently has a close relationship with almost everyone in the court system – from the administrative clerks t...o the officers to the judges. He is well-respected throughout the system – you can see this in his quiet confidence and interaction with individuals. Again, can't recommend David enough. One of the best, kind-hearted men I've met.

Favorable Outcome - Elevated BAC DUI, First Offense

I'm usually a carefully calculated type of person, where most everything I do is planned and executed as expected. Then, one night, I made the worst decision of my life, went out one Friday evening, lost self-control, and had a few too many. I was pulled over and arrested for DUI, blew a .22, and s...pent a long night in jail. Once released, I did additional research beyond the small amount of paperwork/instructions the state gives you in exchange for your release. I was facing a mandatory minimum of 10 days in jail, a 1-year license suspension, heavy fines, and of course, Virginia's infamous permanent criminal record. After consulting other attorneys who didn't provide any piece of mind, nor did they make a significant effort that they would aid my defense, I reached out to David upon personal recommendation. David was able to outline all the logical possibilities, what outcome we would try to aim for, and the potential strategies for my defense. A lot of the fear from this comes from the unknown, and there is a lot of that with a DUI charge. David reduced this tremendously from the start. Ultimately, the state had a solid case against me. There were no holes to exploit. David was able to come to an agreeable positive outcome with the Commonwealth Attorney. I pled guilty to the DUI, but at a lower BAC (.19 vs .22), with a reduced mandatory jail time of 5 days vs. the proposed 10. First and foremost - always be *safe and careful* not to drive in an illegal manner. But if you end up in an unfortunately situation, David will passionately, swiftly, and thoroughly fight for your defense.

Excellent, down to earth lawyer

I was charged with a DUI in October of 2016. When I reached out to David, we called me within 24 hours. He went over the process, gave me his preliminary opinion of my case, and answered any questions I had. This was even before I hired him! After hiring David, he took care of everything leading up... to the court date, kept me updated with any developments, and always answered any questions I had early the next morning through email. We met once to go over evidence and decide how to proceed ( go to trial, or not). At the courthouse, David had another case before mine, and it went long, overlapping with my scheduled time. He expertly juggled both cases until the first one was resolve. He thought on his feet, constantly monitored the many facets of my case, and reacted quickly when they changed. He looked comfortable in the courtroom and even changed tactics mid-trial to my benefit. My case ended up being dismissed.

Informed, Professional, Down-to-Earth, and Effective

David represented me on a DUI and a Breathalyzer Refusal charge in February 2017. The incident happened in Woodbridge, VA in Prince William County. I had researched and talked to many other attorney's prior to speaking with David. He was extremely knowledgeable about the current practices of LE in th...e area, listened to all my concerns and questions, and ultimately fought and won at court for me. He was able to get the refusal charge completely dismissed and the DUI charge reduced to an "Improper Driving" charge which is only a traffic violation and fine of $100 for my case, resulting in no misdemeanor or criminal charges brought against me or being on my record. He knows the judges and prosecuting attorneys in the NOVA area extremely well and has a good repertoire with them all. I was mainly concerned about how the charges would affect my security clearance and he drafted a letter explaining the situation thoroughly for the adjudication board that was reviewing my clearance as a result of these charges. That letter along with the final disposition of my case resolved all the clearance issues immediately and I am happy to say I was able to keep my clearance with no blemish on my record. He also provided the information on how I could file an expungement request for the arrest records stemming from the charges free of charge. He also offers a greatly reduced rate for handling the expungement for you if he had previously represented you for that charge. I would highly recommend him to anyone involved in a traffic offense or alcohol related charge. He was always available to answer any/all questions I had at any time, he did not try to nickel or dime me on any fees or costs, he was upfront and honest about possible outcomes, processes, and options. His advice was always spot-on and worked with me the entire process (in my case it took about 5 months total from the initial incident until my trial date). I think he is different than most other attorneys in that he is very down-to-earth and common sense about the reality of things. He does not talk down to you or withhold any information, offers meaningful suggestions, thinks outside-the-box and offers solutions/advice that most other lawyers would probably not think of, and overall is a very personable, intelligent attorney. It is a scary situation when you are charged by the LE, just or unjustly, and when it seems that LE and court systems are just out to make money anyway they can, it can feel like the odds are stacked against you and there are no recourses but to just plead guilty. Hiring David Dischley to represent you would be a very wise move. If nothing else, he will listen to your situation free of charge, offer meaningful/useful advice, and give you a fair price for representation.
