Cara J. Luther has played an integral role in the legal representation of many commercial transportation and mass disaster cases over the past 20 years of practicing law at Baum, Hedlund, Aristei & Goldman. During her time with the firm, Cara has primarily focused her practice on personal injury and wrongful death cases stemming from commercial trucking accidents, aviation accidents, rail accidents and bus accidents. In addition to transportation litigation, Cara has also handled defective pharmaceutical product liability cases.
Cara came to Baum Hedlund with a background in both the medical and insurance fields. After graduating with a biology degree from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro where she focused her studies on medical technology, Cara became a medical researcher. Her experience left her intimately familiar with medical documents, which has proven to be valuable in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases.
After leaving medical research, Cara entered into the insurance business, where she worked in sales and claims adjustment. During this time, Cara became acquainted with the perspective of the defense and how insurance adjusters approach cases. She credits this experience with giving her the ability to more effectively communicate with defense counsel for insurance companies in the cases she works on today.
Cara takes great pride in helping her clients through difficult times in their lives, working to earn their trust and giving them the knowledge they need to understand the legal process. She has long been a champion of her clients' rights, and she serves as a pillar of her community. Based out of Baum Hedlund's Washington D.C. office, Cara continues to provide pro bono legal advice to underprivileged groups in the area, helping others find education, employment and other resources they need to succeed.
