This is a Grade "A" Law Team! Marc Borbely worked with me for approximately 2 years on my case. It was a case where TOPA RIGHTS were not provided to me in accordance with the law. The process morphed into an Eviction Case. Marc worked indefatigably on my case. He was always available to respond on the day of my calls or e mails. Occasionally, he went beyond the call of duty to reply after regular business hours. This made me feel secure, trusting and confident which is key in fighting for one's rights and peace of mind. Although Marc had other cases running simultaneously, he was dedicated to the details of my case. He was prompt on all time sensitive matters, Usually, he astonished me on the technicalities he discovered and prepared clear and reasonable arguments that were not difficult to follow. He always got every leg of his job done on time. He provided me with high quality legal advise and always protected my rights during negotiations and litigation. Not only is he an ace of knowledge on Landlord/Tenant Law, he and his team actually care and do everything they can for you. Upon first meeting him, you will find Marc is approachable and straightforward about the agreement contract between the client and The Tenants' Right Center. You don't feel like you are signing something you don't understand. Its very 'inexpensive' for the load of research and representation they do for you! In the court room Marc is supremely prepared. I watched pretentious overpaid attorneys tire easily during long negotiations. In comparison, Marc never lost his stamina and humbly weathered aggression from the opposing parties. His remarkable composure and respect in and out of the courtroom is his truest asset. I cannot tell you how pleased I was with the outcome of my case. It was a tumultuous journey and The Tenants' Rights Center guided me through to a successful ending! Put your trust in this team. You will be completely satisfied.

Working with Marc was fantastic. He took the time to understand what my desired outcome was, gave me options and then we made it happen. During the process he helped me represent myself in court (to keep costs down), he represented me in mediation, drafted several settlement agreements which he negotiated on my behalf (with my approval), and even dealt with the collection agency on my behalf (with my approval).
I cannot say how much I appreciate the legal assistance he provided. It literally changed my life for the better. I highly recommend his services and his staff.
Marc was concise, detailed, thorough, and genuinely concerned while remaining as professional as possible.

Mark A Borbely is an outstanding tenant attorney. He is a real expert in tenant law with outstanding people skills. He looks at both sides of a legal issue and is prepared and ready to go to work defending the tenant in the cases he represents the tenant in. He calls in other experts, like in my case a seasoned locksmith, when necessary and appropriate. He brings to the table a wealth of experience as well as his knowledge. I had an issue with my being harassed by the management of the building I rent an apartment in. Mr. Borbely determine a special lock was appropriate to be installed where the management could gain access but where I could track who entered my apartment using a code that had been given to them. By the time I ordered the lock, given Mr. Borbely's talents, skills, abilities and expertise in representing me and my interests with management, I no longer needed the lock as the harassment had fully and completely stopped. Mr. Borbley's work on my behalf resolved the issue without the need of the lock.
I recommend Mark A Borbely to any potential client with the highest possible recommendation possible. He is truly a caring as well as an outstanding tenant attorney in the Washington, DC area.

Marc is an excellent attorney. His practice focusing on tenant rights is a great service to the residents of the District of Columbia. Working in the same building, I have had the opportunity to talk litigation strategy with Marc. He's a great attorney, and I highly recommend him to a tenant seeking representation.
