W. Frank Johnson, Jr. is a member of the Bar of Pennsylvania and he is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He received his undergraduate degree in Marketing from Clemson University in 1993. Mr. Johnson was a recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the Reuschlein Scholarship at Villanova University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree in 2003. While at Villanova, he was a law clerk for the Honorable Juan R. Sanchez of the Chester County Court of Common Pleas and a student attorney in the Farmworkers’ Legal Aid clinic.

Mr. Johnson is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court. He has appeared multiple times on Legal Talk, the longest running legal talk show in the country, to discuss family law issues. He has also been a guest lecturer on the topic of family law for the People’s Law School.

He serves as a client advocate in all aspects of family law matters including adoption, divorce, equitable distribution, child custody, support, relocation, grandparents’ rights and protection from abuse. In addition to his substantial experience with family law matters, Mr. Johnson represents clients in civil litigation and business matters. His practice includes the counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery and Philadelphia.

Honest and Straight Forward

Frank has been by my side for the past 4 years. I don’t think I would have managed the endlessness of my divorce if it were not for him. I really appreciated his straight forward and calm style. I highly recommend Frank.

I required legal advice regarding my financial obligations, if any, subsequent to dissolving my 5 year relationship with my live-in girlfriend. Frank took the time to listen to the facts, provide his opinion based on Pennsylvania law, and even called me back with additional definitive advice. Job Well Done!!

W. Frank is excellent

"Wayne" goes by Frank. Of his many good qualities, Frank Johnson is above all, a level-headed and informed attorney. My divorce has certainly been quite stressful at times and Frank has kept me focused on the details and the process. His calm demeanor coupled with his knowledge and strategy, have benefitted me at every turn. He is quite efficient and does not waste my time or money. He has been responsive and supportive throughout this emotional process. I cannot advocate divorce, but if you find yourself at that point, then I would strongly suggest that you hire Frank Johnson.

Excellent attoney who gets to know his clients!

Frank was/is exactly the attorney I was looking for to guide me through my divorce - knowledgeable, professional, but retains a personal small firm touch. Frank was very clear in that his role in the process is to act as your advocate and advisor and to point out what is best for you. He was very good at keeping me focused on the point in the process we were on rather than looking ahead or back. Frank also completely understood my financial situation and was able to assist me with arriving at a settlement agreement that was fair - to both sides. I would strongly recommend Frank to anyone seeking level headed guidance who values taking the high road in negotiations. He truly is a pleasure to work with during one of the most difficult times in your life.

Helped me with my divorce and would highly recommend anyone that is looking for a trustworthy attorney!!

Mr Johnson helped me in every way and could not ask for any better service. He is very knowledgeable and strait and forward with you. He help me with every little thing that I needed him for with always a quick response. He gave me more advice that I ever imagined, along with getting the job done very professionally. My divorce was pretty complicated but made it feel like a breeze. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him to handle any case and would use him again for anything I ever need again!!!! I could go on and on about Mr. Johnson but I believe I pretty know I wrapped it up. He helped me more then anyone I have ever came across and I know he will do the same for you. Excellent Custody and Divorce Attorney

Mr. Johnson guided me expertly through what was a very emotionally traumatizing divorce and custody situation. He was honest with me throughout the process about what to expect and what not to expect, and kept me grounded. He is passionate about his area of law but very factual, calm, and realistic.

as lawyers go... he was fine

I'm biased against lawyers after my divorce. Now I just wanted some over the phone advice about my modification of custody case and he gave me his consultation fee which was too expensive for me, so I decided not. I think the AVVO deal is good though, he was helpful with that. That was how I originally contacted him. But for follow up, too expensive.

Hiring him was one of the biggest mistakes in my life.

There are so many reasons why he was not a good choice for me….. Besides over billing, cursing at you, not returning or answering emails, etc.etc….. I can not list all the reasons to look elsewhere in a short paragraph. Just do yourself a huge favor and CHOOSE ANYONE BUT W. Frank Johnson. I had a simple case, but his decisions and advice have severely ruined my case and custody time with my child.

Endless legal fees

I would not recommend Frank Johnson if you want an amicable divorce. If you’ve seen the movie Marriage Story, Frank will remind you of the lawyer portrayed by Laura Dern—looking for an opportunity to draw out the legal fees as long as possible by making the process as toxic as possible. He advertises on his website the he got an alcoholic woman custody and made the spouse pay his fees. In my experience he took a scenario in which my ex and I asked for equal time with the kids and roughly equal expenses with a pre-agreed split of assets and then he made such significant threats about what he could do in court that then turned it into tens of thousands in fees with no actual court hearing and no end in sight to the expensive negotiations. There are better options for your kids and your future than this man. If you have kids, rather than listen to him, agree to split the child tax credits, each claim head of household, agree to perfectly equal time or the courts will penalize you, and agree to equal share of expenses and assets. That’s what my parents did and our lives were better for it.

Was not the person who I was told would call. He listened but stayed focussed on divorcing when I want to fight the divorce. He asked why and I love my husband was not valid I guess. If I'm paying I want answers to my questions not just advice and advertisement. I would never recommend doing this.

Unethical business practices

I do not recommend this attorney. His billing practices are unethical and unprofessional. He does not follow directions and attempts to bill clients for services that were not requested or rendered. Found errors in billing that attorney refuses to acknowledge. Bottom line: Do not hire this guy. There are better lawyers out there.
