Do not use this firm.

Do not use this practice. After having a multi-year long divorce, I have seen that this firm has an extremely high turnover rate. This firm dragged out my case for their own income. I had to push for my case to proceed. They charged me huge $$$ for subpoenas, but never reported the findings. Jennifer... and her husband, who is in charge of billing/finance, bullied me at times. by sometimes stopping work (monthly 5000 retainer, some months 10,0000) and dragging it out, taking advantage of my vulnerable state because they knew I wanted it over. They knew my income as a public teacher, and wrote up hours of billing beyond my income. They did not care that I would take on credit card debt to pay the $. The firm consistently did not know the details of my case, exemplified by me repeating details and even not speaking in court to the details, and became angry when I told them so, threatening to quit so near the end, rather than try to learn the case. Because I blurted out in court when my attorney, Matthew, did not speak for me, the judge saw what my ex was attempting and awarded me more than what the firm asked for me to get.

This review is not about me, it seems. As to the claim that my "husband" handles billing, that's simply untrue. We have a Billing Department with 3 amazing, kind, helpful employees (none of whom are related to me!) who work all day on helping our clients with billing needs. Long gone are the days when Avvo verified the authenticity of reviewers. This review appears to be about another firm since no claims align with facts.

Unprofessional Spiteful Wallet Vacuum

Jennifer had suggested drafting a an agreement between my husband and I during my divorce proceedings that would force my husband to move out within 7 days. I said ok to this quickly made decision, however after sleeping on it, I changed my mind early in the morning and notified her. Jennifer would... not confirm my notification. I eventually was able to find out after much effort, that my case had been dropped because I went against 'her counsel.' I was actually charged on my final bill to receive the notification that I was dropped if you can believe that! On the final bill I was also charged for drafting the agreement I had changed my mind on!? I disputed the charge and was refunded the funds - HOWEVER Jennifer spitefully sent the check to my new lawyer's office to incur an additional charges with them!??? I am still in disbelief over this, and that I had originally met with her through the Women's Resource Center. I have notified them of this situation as well.

I am disheartened to see your review especially since so much of our work for you was pro bono through a local women's resource center. We represented you on a limited scope basis at your request to help you when you were in distress. We offered many consultations to you at no cost before you even retained us because you were so upset and lost. Then, once you retained us, we wrote off 38% of your billed time to try to help you along the way, performing much of our service for free (pro bono). You made constant calls to our office, often becoming quite abusive to our staff. We do not tolerate abuse of our employees by anyone - opposing counsel or clients. Our employees wake up every day to come in to help our clients and your abuse of them was unacceptable. We released your unused retainer balance to your new attorney because both you and he requested that we do so. I have such concern for you. You offered gross misrepresentations in your review and, stunningly, appear to have no recollection of the cause of the termination of your representation, nor the direction by you and your attorney to release the retainer refund to him. I note that your new attorney was also a volunteer attorney at the same women's center where I volunteer. Of note, even after we terminated representation, you continued to make extraordinary demands on my staff - nearly constant calls, emails, and threats to us. We had to notify the women's center of your behavior to see if they could secure assistance for you. This was many months ago - four, to be exact - and yet you are once again resurfacing to cause conflict. I suspect you will never stop harassing this office or my staff. I realize family law matters are high stress times and I hope you will be able to find time to reflect on your wellness throughout this. Everyone - this firm, your new attorney, and the Women's Resource Center - have tried to help you. I hope you can find some peace, gratitude, and kindness along the path and can move on to a better life.
