James S. Tupitza

About me

I have been a lawyer for over 40 years.  Most of that time was spent in cases touching real esate in some manner.  Lately, large oil companies, such as Columbia and Sunoco, have been building new pipelines to transport Marcellus shale products.  My firm is familiar with all the theories designed to stop the pipelines.  More importantly we are faililiar with all the easement documents and have developed SIGNIFICANT amendments to protect the landowner and the land. We are very experienced in valuing claims and negoting the easement and the money.

When not dealing with pipelines, I handle real esate transactions, real estate litigation and zoning and development.  I regularly handle jury and non-jury trial, appeals to the Superior Court, Commonwealth Court and the Supreme Court.  In addition, I enjoy teaching numerous continuing legal education courses each year.

In my spare time, I am an Assistant Scout Master and lead high adventure trips for the Boy Scouts. (My sons are all out of scouting, but I love the program)
