My spouse is self employed, and I am unemployed (actively looking though for quite some time.) He recently got a 2nd offense DUI, and with no source of income, I fear we may have to file for bankruptcy.
Not sure what the Dui has has to do with it I would suggest posting it with Bankruptcy forum here on avvo or contact your local Avvo attorney if any or local bar association. Sounds like you need a real life advised based on your particular situation.
Generally bankruptcy are not that expensive...
While getting foot surgery the anesthesiologist punctured my throat, and now o have a nice on my vocal chords.
I doubt there is anything . It sounds that during intubation you had injury to a vocal could. I would start by seeing a good ENT Doctor in your area to see if you can be helped from a medical perspective. Also have a conversation with ENT Doctor if there is reasons to suspect medical malpractice ... Only after that contact your local medical malpractice attorney!See question
I had surgery in 2013 the Dr knicked my ureter and never told me. I was in the hospital from surgery for 5 days, 5 days later I ended up in er (by ambulance) in renal failure. I had to have stents put in my ureters and a perctaneous drain in my ab...
I agree with the prior response plus damage to the ureter is very common and although a serious complication of the surgery is most likely not a med malpractice... It's a risk of surgery in the abdominal area...See question
My wife recently was admitted for planned vaginal birth under epidural anesthesia. Labor failed to progress and an urgent Cesarean became necessary. Within 20 minutes in recovery, she went into hemorrhagic shock and required an emergent explorator...
The question you should be asking is what exactly in this situation fell below the acceptable standards of treatment/surgery. In this case c-section comes with a risk of damage to internal organs such as Fallopian tubes. The fact that it was not apparent unfortunately is another risk of surgery...But nonetheless for your piece of mind have it reviewed - first with an experienced Ob/GYN provider and only then take it up to your local attorney.See question
I was recently let go from my job. My manager called me in the office and stated "the best thing is to part ways". I said ok and we said goodbye. I also asked for any paperwork documenting this and he told me he would email me. I have yet to recei...
my first recommendation to his first to apply employment, the New Jersey, as it sounds that your employer is from New Jersey also.
You will then have to wait for a determination by the New Jersey unemployment /departmental. If it turns out that your employer is fighting your unemployment you will be notified so in writing and given an opportunity to explain your position vs. your employer's position. At this point I do not see any reasons for you to be anxious until you receive documents, saying that your claim was either denied or a negative information was received from your employer. If that happens, please contact a local attorney.See question
My wisdom teeth were removed a year ago and food is still getting caught in the remaining holes and causing pain. Today I touched the extraction site and some pink stuff that resembled my gum was on my finger.
I would consult a dentist. You can start with the dentist that did the procedure in a first place or a different practitioner.See question
i went in for a thyroid surgery and there where complications and i was put in a medically induced coma. now my kidneys failed and i am on dialysis. i was having the thyroid removed to improve my kidney functions which where low, my surgeon said t...
This is not that uncommon. It seems that your kidneys were failing before the surgery (that is why you had the thyroidectomy). The question is whether you were aware of all the risks and complications. I think you are referring to a problem intubation (putting the tube down the throat to assist you breathing during the procedure)- that is why the Anesthethiologist had problems and they can sometime rely on the ENT physicians to intubate. Anyway, its too complicated even if I would have all your records in front of me to answer your questions. This is worth reviewing...

I myself plus my 4 children ss were gone. So behind the scenes I don't know what is going on and I need to talk to an advisor about it.
I think what you need to do first is physically go to your local Social Security Office. Get the information from the local office in writing and THEN find a local attorney that deals with Social Security benefits!
Hope this helps!See question

This sounds like a very interesting Case, and I would love to to get involved in it but you're about 26 years late. I don't think you can do anything with it even if you're absolutely right the Statue of Liberty Tatian in this case will have that who years after you suffer than injury. No exceptions in this case would apply.
My best suggestion to you would be to move on, and or applied for Social Security benefits

I went out on family leave in July of 2015 because I was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis and I had a problem walking. My family leave was up in October of 2015 and because i still wasnt able to walk they had to hire someone to fill my position....
I am the stand your concern and I am faced with the same questions quite often. What do you need to remember is the job at acquirements with different employers are different. In your particular case since you're in the wheelchair and enable to perform some of your duties, you still might be able to fully perform other duties with other employers. Just to give you an example you should be able to sell tickets at a movie theater or perform a desk job. You should also consider applying for Social Security disability if you were told that your disability will persist for over 12 months.
In your particular situation I would advise contacting a local attorney to discuss your options.See question
