My husband and I were referred to Steve by a friend, and we were nervously anticipating being overwhelmed and confused by everything we had to do to get our "estate" in order. Very quick response

I did speak to this gentleman. I offer a free 15 minute consultation, and try to quickly and efficiently explain to potential clients how the probate process works. That way they understand the process in general. It is not possible to go over every detail in a consultation before being hired. I also try to give prospective clients a general idea of what estate administration costs are in a typical case. My quote was for a range for a typical estate with the facts presented based on my long standing experience in the field. Obviously there are lawyers who charge more or charge less and it is up to the potential client to make the best choice for them. I think it is grossly overstated to say you are hiring a lawyer to "file a couple of pieces of paper" - that's like saying your paying a surgeon a couple of bucks to make a couple of incisions!
