I had a very informative lawyer assistant in Krystal. She was very professional and yet comforting. She answered all of my questions, and if she didn't know an answer she would get one for me. Dan was very professional at my hearing. He instructed me on how to answer the questions asked by the judge.... I was very nervous and he calmed me down. The only thing that upset me was after the hearing, and we were in the conference room, I told him how much money my husband collected for ssdi and he told me that shouldn't be a problem. But when I called SS for my appt., the woman told me that my husband makes too much money and I wouldn't be entitled to receive any income. My husband has a very bad mental illness and couldn't accept the fact that I wasn't entitled to any income, he left me because he thought we were going to add another $700. to our income which would have made our lives a little easier. But it didn't work out that way. I contacted SS and told them we were separated and they gave me my ssi, however that isn't enough to live off of with 2 children.
