About me

Robert C. Keller was born in Chester, PA and raised in Delaware County. He graduated from Temple University achieving a Bachelor of Arts degree (English Major). Thereafter, he attended Temple University School of Law (now known as the James Beasley School of Law) and graduated in 1979 achieving a Juris Doctor degree.

As a newly graduated attorney, Robert C. Keller practiced law in the City of Chester with Joseph F. Battle, (then Mayor of the City of Chester), who eventually became the President Judge of the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas. During their years together, Mr. Keller concentrated his practice in civil litigation, real estate law, family law and bankruptcy.

In 1979, he was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County, where he began his criminal law career prosecuting cases in the juvenile division. Soon thereafter, he moved to a trial team, ultimately becoming the team leader where he was responsible for managing other attorneys and staff. As an Assistant DA, he handled hundreds of jury trials and thousands of bench trials, including many high profile murder, rape, robbery, and burglary cases. When he retired from this position in 1988, as a special honor, his badge was also retired.

In 1988, after retiring as an Assistant DA, Mr. Keller opened his own private law practice in Media, followed by an office in Upper Darby. His practice focused on criminal law, personal injury law and family law. In 2003, he formed Keller, Lisgar & Williams, LLP where he has remained the Senior Partner.

Since that time, Mr. Keller’s practice has been limited exclusively to criminal defense. He has successfully tried and received not-guilty verdicts in thousands of cases throughout Delaware, Philadelphia, Chester, Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

Mr. Keller has had the privilege of repeatedly presenting argument before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the Delaware County Bar Association, where he serves as the President of the Delaware County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Mr. Keller is married with three grown children and continues to be a prominent figure in his community. Currently he serves as the President of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet Society (where his daughters performed) and he is a board member and secretary for CASA Youth Advocates, Inc. He has served as a board member for the Delaware County Bar Association, as a council member in his local community, and as a board member of the Council of Services for the Aged (COSA). Today, he is an active member of the “Big Brothers/Big Sisters Society,” where he has become the proud big brother of “Little R.”

Additionally, he has lectured on various legal issues to attorneys fulfilling their continuing legal educationrequirements. As a member of the bar association, Mr. Keller sits as the chairman of arbitrations several times per year hearing civil matters and rendering awards.

Robert C. Keller is undeniably known in the legal community as an extremely aggressive and experienced criminal defense lawyer. He is at the top of his profession, consistently achieving favorable results for his clients.
