Look elsewhere

If you hire this firm you will have to do most of the work. They lose paperwork, change your lawyer in the middle of your case, and then ask you to resubmit everything, they are rude, unprofessional, and extremely unorganized.

Child Support Case

Ms Ulmer was contacted to represent me in an ongoing child support issue. My case was referred to her associates instead of her handling it herself. The representation I received was below average, as I feel I just ended up retaining an administrative secretary, and no one acting in my best interest,... or being honest about any satisfactory outcome relating to my case. At the time I was firing Ms. Ulmer's firm for neglect relating to my case, only then did Ms Ulmer become involved, only to tell me that she agreed the court's were not fair as it related to the child support laws and issues involving my case. A good piece of honest advice I could have used prior to being charged over $15,000 with no favorable result, and getting no further ahead. Very disappointed - would not recommend her.

Lack of attention to details...and clients.

Ms. Ulmer Pendergast represented me in my divorce case, which was undisputed by my ex. I found that I had to do much of the proof-reading and editing work for the case, as it was very difficult to get correctly completed documents from her office. I had to make multiple payments to the county courts ...for paperwork that was incorrectly submitted by her office. Additionally, I typed up a page describing our division of property, and she submitted it "as is" with my divorce papers. The expectation was that my information would be worked into the document, but instead, my typed letter was an addendum to the document. Errors such as having the wrong "husband" and "wife" names on the official document sent to the courthouse (after I pointed it out, but it wasn't corrected) are inexcusable, and cost me considerable time and a great deal of extra money. Each time I emailed the office because there was something wrong on a document, I was charged for the time, per our contract. Choosing Karen Ulmer was a frustrating, disappointing, and expensive error on my part. I would not recommend her services.
