Ellis Klein served as my attorney after I found myself again at a crossroads & in trouble. On 10/02/2025, then struggling with a very active addiction to alcohol (20+ years) I found myself blacked out again operating an automobile. I "came to" maybe a second before I crashed into a parked car. Pol...ice were dispatched and I was later arrested by the Warminster, Pennsylvania Police Department on suspicion of DWI. What was going to further add to my issues was all my prior alcohol-related infractions and arrests (3/10; 7/L). I was broken and busted. I guess I'm going to these lengths to explain that Ellis Klein had a really crappy client. An alcoholic who gave up a long time ago. When I decided to hire Ellis Klein - a decision I made almost immediately after having had the chance to talk to each other - my only thought was maybe he could negotiate on my behalf. Give direction, as needed. If a §3802(a)(1)/(a)(2) with Damage or Injury was an automatic Tier II (spoiler: it is) and this was my third DWI in ten years, then the min/max was 90 days to 5 years! I thought it was a foregone conclusion that I'd be relocating soon to a State Correctional Institution (SCI); the likeliest being SCI Phoenix in Collegeville, PA!
Ellis Klein was the most professional attorney I've ever worked with. He offered hope to someone who was hopeless. And he offered honesty, kindness, and respect even if I felt like I didn’t deserve it! This wasn't something to take lightly, and (in some capacity) I was going to do time. He was by my side every step of the way from my preliminary hearing on 11/17/25, to the pre-trial conference on 01/27/26. I wasn't passed off. Ellis was my attorney!
Following the advice of an expert attorney with (now) 30+ years legal experience, I pled guilty at pre-trial. I needed to! I was then granted without objection a 3-month postponement before sentencing. I was also arrested in Horsham Pennsylvania on 07/03/25. Different county; same charges (sort of). The Montgomery County, Pennsylvania court case was a lesser offense not involving an accident and we had the chance to get ahead of it. If faced with multiple charges at the same time (like me) grouped on top of each other to determine severity as are DWI’s, Ellis Klein will do a much better job explaining the sentencing guidelines than me. Still, here are some terms and resources Ellis went over with me! Ellis also has a ton of amazing resources on his website.

You will not find a more qualified attorney who once was a prosecutor! He has worked on both sides. If I didn’t want to spend years at the State Correctional Institution, I needed to make changes. I needed to get sober and stay sober. I needed to take a long (way overdue) look at myself. Ellis B. Klein was the driving force that got me into A.A. Yet, there was no judgement. He had compassion.
On 06/05/26, I walked back into the courtroom with my attorney and my sponsor. 283 days sober and given a new lease on life. Judge Raymond F McHugh gave me a chance to tell my story, through questions prepared by my attorney and honest answers related to my recovery.
Judge McHugh handed down a sentence placing me on Home Confinement with Electronic Monitoring for 90 days
