He was the 2008 and 2009 President of the Collaborative Professionals of Central Pennsylvania (CPCP) and was the Chair of the Marketing Committee for CPCP for 2011. He is a member of the Cumberland, York, Dauphin County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He is also a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP).
Colgan is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, University Park and the Widener University School of Law.
