Formerly federal administrative law judge with many years of experience in adjudication of disability and Medicaid claims. Extensive prior private practice included positions as a partner in firms in Denver and in Washington, DC. I concentrated on civil litigation, including personal injury, automobile and trucking accidents, medical malpractice and business disputes. The practice also included trucking safety regulation, representing both nationwide and smaller carriers. My experience previously included serving as general counsel to a nationwide motor freight rate bureau and a nationwide general freight trucking company. I am author of several legal books, namely Transportation Safety and Insurance Law, Killer Roads (dealing with the liability of public authorities for defective roads), Occupational Safety and Health, Transportation of Hazardous Materials, and Truck Accident Preventability Manual.
Now engaged in private practice of law in Pittsburgh, admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania and Colorado. In addition I have been admitted and practiced before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the D.C., Second, Fourth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits. I am also a retired U.S. Naval Reserve intelligence officer.
