About me

In my 15 years of experience, I have handled a variety of probate and related matters, including clearing real estate titles, transferring family businesses, guardianships and homestead determination. I mindful of the human aspect of estate administration, and provide considerate attention, in a cost-effective manner, during what can be a difficult and emotional time for many clients.

In regards to estate planning, I work closely with clients to understand their individual needs and prepare trusts, wills, powers of attorney, living wills and health care directives designed specifically to meet those needs. In many instances the establishment of a trust, either revocable or irrevocable, detailing the timing and distribution of assets to beneficiaries, is also part of the planning process. My services range from simple estate plans, where tax planning is not a factor, to combination business-and-estate plans that may encompass succession planning, exit strategies, charitable giving, comprehensive tax analyses and more.

Background and Personal Life

Prior to starting my own law firm, I was a Military Police Office in the United States Army (1986-1990) and (USAR 1995-1996). I also served as a staff attorney for a financial service company working with the company’s high net worth clients. I was also a Senior Attorney for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, Office of Counsel, in its Legislative and Opinions section.

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, and I am a fan of the Boston Red Sox’s and, sorry Steelers fans, but yes, the New England Patriots. I do understand, however, that if you moved to New England you would still be Steelers fans, so don’t hold it against me too much. I am, however, a Penguins fan and an still on the session ticket waiting list.

When not working, I enjoy running with my wife Christine and our dogs, snowboarding, surfing and traveling.
