    I represented a client on a Colombian asylum claim, in which DHS did not have documentation that the asylum claim was filed in a timely manner. We convinced the immigration judge that my client's previous attorney had in fact timely filed the asylum claim, along with the substantive basis of the claim. The Immigration Judge granted client and her two children political asylum.

We carefully prepared my client and her spouse for their bona fide marriage excemption (aka Stokes) interview at NYC. The Stokes unit officer granted client's spouse's I-130 and the Immigration Judge in NYC shortly thereafter granted client her residency

    Description:
    Client retained me to take appeal from an immigration judge's decision denying asylum. The record of the trial showed that the immigration judge overlooked a crucial part of client's testimony. The BIA sustained our appeal, remanded the case to the immigration judge, and the immigration judge granted asylum.
