A lawyer that listens

I met with JoAnn Coughtry to file a separation agreement. My husband and I had already discussed the terms of the separation and had agreed on what we wanted it to look like. We did not want courts to dictate what we felt were life decisions. JoAnn not only provided the agreement that we were seek...ing, but she was the only attorney out of several that I contacted that listened to what I wanted and did not try to steer me away from being reasonable and fair in the process. She offered suggestions and clarifications but respected what I wanted as a client. I would highly recommend JoAnn. Her responses to inquiries were timely and she completed everything I requested in a timely manner. Most importantly, she listened and responded to what I wanted.

Review of Joann Coughtry

Joann was recommended to me by another attorney that I worked with. She is not a hand-holder, which was great. She is very blunt, but really knows her stuff. Although some people tend to use their divorce attorneys as shrinks, she won't let you do that. She is their to help you, even when she is ...telling you things that you don't really want to hear.

Jo Ann Coughtry is the best divorce lawyer

I retained Jo Ann Coughtry for my divorce lawyer. She was referred by several people who told me they were very happy with the results she obtained for them in their divorce and family courrt matters. I thank them for referring Jo Ann to me and thank Jo Ann for doing such a great job. She was str...ong, efficient, and very knowledgable. She knows how to handle herself in court and with other attorneys. If it was not for Jo Ann I do not believe my settlement would have ended as favorable for me. She is not hesitant to go to trial if necessary. She cares about her clients and their needs are her priority. JoAnn even gave me her home phone number in case of emergencies. She is my lawyer for life and I am forever greatful.

JOANN GOT THE JOB DONE!

Joann was excellent at handling my case of child custody/support. I was not married so I did not have all the extra baggage that comes along with a marriage. I had been down this route once before with a different attorney so I had a general idea of what to expect. She has a great professional man...ner both in and out of the court room. Her professonal manner helped me to avoid a trial and gave me the outcome that I wanted. She can be tough with the opposing party when warranted. Joann tells you like it is.....and is honest about the reality of your specific situation, unlike the lawyer I had hired years ago who just feed me a bunch of bs. She is very mindful of the family court system and its players... an excellent trait that a client would want a lawyer to have. She made herself available whenever I had a quesiton or needed more information about my case. She got the job done!

Simply excellent - Best $200 I ever spent.

When I was looking to secure an attorney for my divorce I had interviewed with several for free. Jo Ann required $200 to meet with her...she promised me it would be the best $200 I spent in this matter and she was absolutely correct. Jo Ann is the hardest working, most knowledgeable, selfless and ...committed attorney I have ever met or will probably ever know. In the past 2+ years she has worked tirelessly on my extremely difficult and complicated divorce with contested custody. She never once stepped away from any legal challenge, and she never wavered from her commitment to my case. If you are a parent (and especially a father who loves his children) who doesn't want to get pushed out of their lives and railroaded by a court system that is typically sympathetic to mothers regardless of their personal character, parenting skills, emotional and/or mental health, than you need to hire Jo Ann. I literally faced every false allegation and legal challenge that can be thrown at a father in a divorce custody challenge case, and not just once but several times. Just being right or innocent isn't enough, you need an eminently qualified attorney. My divorce is literally one for the record books on many points. Nothing I say could over dramatize these last two years or the events that occurred. Jo Ann's professional conduct, knowledge,commitment, and legal execution is exemplary.
