Structured settlement of lifetime monthly payments to plaintiff.
Client run over by CONRAIL locomotive, causing spinal and brain injuries. Case involved extensive discovery, including over 12 depositions in New York and Pennsylvania over a 4-year period. Case settled three days before trial was scheduled to begin in Federal District Court for the Northern District of New York. Several weeks after the case was settled, Magistrate Judge Ralph Smith of the Northern District ruled in favor of a previous motion by Plaintiff's counsel (Luhn) seeking sanctions against CONTRAIL and its defense team for abusive discovery practices and other misconduct. There, the Court ordered the Defendant's attorneys to pay Leiching additional moneys from personal funds.

Settled one week before trial - $5.5 million
