In more than a decade of practicing law, I have earned a reputation as a tough and tireless advocate with a passion for helping regular people fight for compensation they deserve. I stand up to carmakers, insurance companies, debt collection agencies, robocallers, and other big businesses. My clients are family-oriented, hard-working people who cannot fight the system on their own, so they turn to me for my compassion and determination to advocate on their behalf. I offer them cutting edge, 21st Century consumer legal representation – with zero hassle, zero out-of-pocket cost, and zero anxiety for clients. I communicate with clients via texts, skype, phone, online, and of course in person. I ask questions, I listen, and then I deliver options so that my clients can decide what’s best for them.
I don’t get paid unless we win.
Certain federal and state laws – like those protecting consumers from unfair business acts & practices, debt harassment, robocalls, and defective cars – are rarely enforced by the government. Instead, the law encourages attorneys like me to represent consumers by forcing companies that break the law to pay your attorney’s fees. I’m either paid by the companies that have violated your rights, or by a percentage of the cash settlement I negotiate. That means my clients never pay a dime out of pocket.
So, for example, if a court finds that a debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by harassing you, the debt collection agency pays you a settlement, and they also pay my attorney’s fees. The result is that my work enables my clients to assert their rights cheaply, quickly, and easily. I believe that’s how the law should function. Consumers shouldn’t have to pay to enforce their rights. The law-breaking businesses should be forced to pay for their mistakes.
My Experience and Knowledge
I have over a decade of experience assisting consumers with many types of legal issues. My legal career began as a bank attorney for several years with a large real estate firm. I joined a large litigation firm as a trial associate, specializing in No-Fault litigation and personal injury matters, where I tried hundreds of cases, representing both individuals and commercial clients, including major insurance companies in both state and federal court. In the late 2000s, I switched my focus to consumer protection issues, primarily on defending consumers from abusive debt collectors and suing businesses for deceptive and fraudulent acts and practices. I have vast experience representing clients in New York State District, Supreme, Appellate and Federal Courts, and I am admitted to practice law in all the Courts of the State of New York, as well as the United States District Court for both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
In addition to my litigation experience, I have presented many seminars and training events to consumers across Long Island, New York regarding how to protect your assets from debt collectors, how to defend yourself from collection lawsuits, and other general topics such as the right to privacy in New York, and copyright defense & photographer’s rights.
