Elan E. Weinreb is a creative and insightful civil litigator, mediator, and arbitrator who has represented domestic and international clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal court cases involving diverse and complex fields of law and has extensive experience in the use of technology in litigation. He has also served as a third-party neutral in mediations and both individually and as a panelist in arbitrations.
Mr. Weinreb was born in 1979 in Hollywood, Florida to Dr. Neal Weinreb, a world-class hematologist/oncologist, and Mrs. Bonnie Weinreb (nee Riesel), a graduate-level English instructor. After attending the Samuel Scheck Hillel Community Day School and Ben Lipson Hillel Community High School, he moved to Manhattan in 1996 to attend Isaac Breuer College of Hebraic Studies at Yeshiva University and Yeshiva College at Yeshiva University. While at Yeshiva University, Mr. Weinreb reinstituted the Yeshiva University Debate Society and went on to win more than a few debate trophies at regional competitions.
After graduating as Valedictorian from Isaac Breuer College and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in History from Yeshiva College, Mr. Weinreb’s love for language, rhetoric, and argument propelled him to the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. From 2000 through 2002, Mr. Weinreb served—first as an Associate Editor and then as Production Editor—on the Cardozo Law Review, where he developed an interest in the use of computer technology in litigation and published a student Note on the use of computer animations and simulations in the courtroom.
After graduating magna cum laude from Cardozo in 2002 with a concentration in Litigation, Mr. Weinreb joined Kaye Scholer LLP, a prestigious midtown Manhattan law firm. Over approximately the next seven years, he had the honor and privilege of honing his legal skills while representing the following clients in multi-million dollar commercial, intellectual property, and product liability litigations:
In November 2007, Mr. Weinreb published another article on computer animations in the courtroom for the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division, and in September 2008, he was quoted in Fortune Small Business on the topic.
Seeking more control and responsibility over his own cases, in June 2009, Mr. Weinreb joined Katlowitz & Associates as Senior Associate and Head of Litigation, and in July 2012, he was promoted to Counsel. At the start of 2014, Mr. Weinreb left Katlowitz & Associates to pursue his life-long dream of establishing The Weinreb Law Firm, PLLC.
In June 2015, after undertaking comprehensive training in commercial arbitration offered by the New York State Bar Association and mediation training offered by the New York Center for Interpersonal Development, Mr. Weinreb decided to expand TWLF's practice areas to include alternative dispute resolution (a/k/a ADR) disciplines, namely arbitration, mediation, and negotiation.
Outside of the office, Mr. Weinreb serves as a professional Torah reader for two West Hempstead synagogues of which he is a member: Congregation Anshei Shalom and Young Israel of West Hempstead. His spouse of twelve years, Michele A. Weinreb, a court reporter and gourmet chef (although she will never admit it if asked), keeps him both entertained and well-fed. More importantly, she serves as his perpetual source of motivation and inspiration.

Relationship: Worked together on matter
I strongly recommend the legal services of Elan Weinreb and The Weinreb Law Firm, PLLC. Elan served as co-counsel on an administrative appeal for one of our Long Term Disability clients. He was very easy to work with, always responded to e-mails or phone calls expeditiously, paid close attention to detail, and went out of his way to help our mutual client. Elan’s assistance in working with our client to prepare important documents; helping to obtain medical records to support our client’s disability; and dealing with, often uncooperative, doctors’ offices proved invaluable. With his assistance, we were able to obtain a quick and successful outcome for our client.

Relationship: Worked together on matter
I have worked with Elan Weinreb, Esq., on various cases over the last four years. During that time, we were in the same suite of offices and collaborated on various topics and issues. In all of my interactions with him, I have found him to be a man of integrity who is knowledgeable about the law, keen in his insights, articulate in his presentations and arguments, thorough and diligent in all that he does, and determined not only to get the proverbial job done but to have it done correctly.
