Defending people charged with DWI is my passion. I have tried over 200 dwi cases, with a very high percentage of acquittals, ranging from cases as high as .26 and below. Moreover, I have conducted well over 750 Pre-trial hearings or Refusal Hearings at DMV. Decisions on my cases have been published in WestLaw and the New Yorl Law Journal. In addition, I am a frequent commentor for Newday and Channel 12 on cases or issues that involved DWI.
In addition I know inside and out the breath tests instruments used by the Nassau County Police Department, New York City Police Department, and New York State Police Department as I have been trained on these instruments and actually own them.
In addition I have lectured on the Subject of DWI defense to Nassau Criminal Courts Bar Associations, Nassau Criminal Courts Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, and Suffollk County Bar Association.
Recently, my client was acquitted of a Felony Charge with a .24 while driving with a minor, and having an accident. At trial I pointed out the weakness in the instrument used and the unreliabililty of the test result.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
I endorse Mr. Brunetti with the highest recommendation. I have always told fellow lawyers that if I was ever arrested in a DWI charge, Mr. Brunetti would be the attorney I'd hire! Thankfully, that situation has never arisen but on two occasions I have recommended him to close friends of mine. On the most recent case, Mr. Brunetti turned what surely would have been a career ending situation for my friend into a disposition that is rarely given by the District Attorney. In addition to watching him practice first hand, I've seen Mr. Brunetti lecture on DWI law and he is an expert in his field. But most importantly, his clients know that not only does he come with the expertise needed to solve the client's problem, but he shows a caring and compassion that unfortunately the legal profession is not known for.

I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Brunetti, Mr. Scott Benjamin, and Ms. Ascione zealously and successfully advocated for a close friend of mine during nearly 1-month-long DWI trial. Mr. Brunetti and his team created reasonable doubt by demonstrating that the police acted in a predatory and unlawful manner in pulling my friend over, illegally signed blank traffic tickets, and lacked knowledge and skill regarding how to conduct field sobriety tests. One of the charges which the police used as a pretext for the arrest was dismissed by the judge as baseless, due to Mr. Brunetti and his team's extraordinary representation the jury properly found my friend not guilty of 2 misdemeanor DWI charges (per se and common law) and a violation DWAI charges. In the end, my friend was only found guilty of failing to signal and walked away (reputation and future saved thanks to Brunetti &Ascione!) with a simple traffic ticket.
