Before I discovered the Law Office of Mary Katherine Brown (MKB), I was advised by an attorney in a well-established part of town. During the consultation, the first thing he did was cranking out numbers for the payments I would have to make. For the rest of the consultation, I was unable to get him to listen to my real concerns and advised me accordingly. I felt like I was seeing an accountant more than an attorney.
With Ms. Mary Katherine Brown at MKB, I was able to discuss my situation. She looked at it carefully before any legal options were presented, and advised me what position each option would put me in. She addressed my issues, cleared up my confusion, answered all my legal questions, and informed me of the governing laws. All that in plain English and repeated if I could not follow. Her approach to the problem I faced with a patient and caring attitude helped me make the right choice. She also pointed out whether litigation was necessary in my case instead of just advocating it to obtain legal fees from the client. In other words, she is acting in her clients' interests first, not hers.
As necessary in my particular situation, she also referred me to another equally competent attorney in a different area of the law, which saved me the trouble of finding one myself. Obviously with her excellent legal advice and services, you do not expect her to be next to the phone whenever you call--she may be in consultations or litigation. Her aides are all professional, courteous and helpful to relate messages in a timely manner, or set up appointments with her. Her billing is transparent and honest. Her fees are significantly lower than those in the well-established part of town.
You should not be surprised by everything positive I have to say about my experience with MKB because, as part of her stated objectives, it is the goal of Ms. Mary Katherine Brown to do all she can to achieve the best possible result for her clients with a good lawyer's toolbox. She exceeds the expectations of a good lawyer.

My Boyfriend's Father came into the States and was arrested practically the moment he got off the plane. I went to his court appearance that was scheduled for the day after he was arrested, I wasn't given a specific court house to go to so I ran around all different buildings and until I was finally directed to the right one. Once there I spoke to Mary who explained to me the most important thing was to write everything down because I would not be able to remember it later, I wrote everything I could down. For days we had no contact, no idea how to handle this situation at hand. Lucky for us Mary offered her help, she assisted us in speaking to my Boyfriend's father and figuring out what needed to be done. She then found us a lawyer in Texas where he would ultimately be sent. Currently we are still waiting on the total outcome, however without Mary's help things would not have gone quite as smoothly, nor would we have had such a great lawyer recommended to us without her help. Mary was a complete godsend during this crisis, she not only helped keep our minds at ease but also kept us completely aware of what was going on and what needed to be done, and the best thing to be done.

I was so grateful to find Ms. Brown, after switching attorneys twice in the duration of my ongoing case.
Brown is professional, no-nonsense, and most of all down to Earth. I actually felt like I was speaking to a human being about my sensitive matter, and she listened with balance, rationality and compassion. Front desk service is also very polite and professional.
Most importantly, Brown represents her firm and she is who you will hire as an attorney once you sign on-you will not be re-directed to an unknown associated attorney, unlike many other larger firms.
I would recommend Mary Brown to anyone with a legal matter within her range of expertise.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
Mary is very sharp. She quickly grasps the essence of an issue, is intelligent and articulate, and gives sound advice. She also has the guts to stand up and fight for her client's interests. The best attorneys are the ones that have the intellect "and" the follow through to get things done - Mary has both.

Divorce is not just about getting out of a marriage. Mary takes the time with clients, and has the broad kind of experience that allows her to discover the facts necessary to secure a seperation and dissolution that takes into account the future needs of her clients, not only the immedeate desire to break away. I endorse her for the thoughtful representation that is apparent from the answers to the client inquiries, and I endorse her because her broad practice, including estates and elder law, allow her to anticipate the needs of her clients before the client realizes these issues need to be addressed in every divorce.
