James J. Sexton was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts and raised in Rockland County, New York. In additional to his legal practice, James has taught undergraduate courses in Conflict Resolution, Ethics, Propaganda and Public Speaking at a number of colleges and universities including NYU and Ramapo College of New Jersey. His research, essays and poetry have been published in such varied media as People Magazine, ETC: The Journal of General Semantics and Tricycle : The Buddhist Quarterly.
In his limited free time is an active mixed martial artist and began studying Okinawan Goju Ryu karate at the age of nine. He currently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Marcelo Garcia Academy) and frequently competes in amateur grappling and mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting.
James has two teenage sons and resides in Manhattan.
