Ron Sher represented us at our RE closing and we would NOT recommend him to anyone. He built up our confidence by sabre-rattling and talking tough during the Contract negotiations about how he would represent our interests and described himself as a “bull dog.” He was responsive to our calls and emails for the most part, and we trusted him. In the end, he let us down. The Seller made significant changes to the property just prior to closing, without our knowledge, and Ron was either not able or not willing to fight for us and win some reasonable consideration for the loss. We felt completely alone at our closing table, and in hindsight, we blame Ron at least in part for what went wrong. He actually dismissed us from the conference room so he could speak privately to the Seller and their attorney. Our biggest mistake was actually leaving the room. He made it seem as though he didn’t want us to witness his ferocious attitude, but truth be told, we should have been privy to the entire conversation no matter what. As our attorney, Ron should have respected that and allowed us to remain with him. Instead, now we have misgivings about what transpired in our absence. He was a bulldog alright, only we ended up feeling as though he was not on our side. Instead of yelling at the Seller, their attorney, or the agents, he yelled at us! We were disgusted as we drove home and have had a bitter taste in our mouths ever since. Some might say this was just a deal that went bad, but there’s a difference between losing something valuable and feeling used. We were exploited and mistreated. Don’t make the same mistake we did.
