Honor Code Case Won!

I have always valued education and I could not have been more proud when my son was accepted to a top college. That is why we were blindsided when he was charged with violating his college's honor code. We did not know who to turn to for the help. We found attorney Joseph Lento and his firm onli...ne and contacted him to discuss the case. Mr. Lento provided a clear picture of the case and what would need to be done to resolve the issue. It was a great relief to have Mr. Lento and his team take charge and guide us through the school disciplinary process. Through Mr. Lento's expertise and insight, we learned that the disciplinary process itself can have a student's reasonable defense to the charges and also the student's rights be disregarded especially if the right person is not looking out for the accused student. We were fortunate to recognize early on that Mr. Lento is the right person, and through all steps in the process, he made certain that our son's case was properly considered and his rights were respected. Mr. Lento's efforts and strategy helped us secure a win as the honor code charges against my son were dismissed.

HIRE HIM NOW

STOP & HIRE MR. LENTO NOW. STOP DELAYING. STUDENTS, PARENTS ESPECIALLY. I am an engineering student at the largest university in NJ, (I assume it is the largest), and I faced a great deal of hardships through the Title IX process once accused where my clear and convincing evidences as well as witness...es were rejected for no reason. I was innocent! Without delving too much into the case, I will say that we had to file a complaint with the Dept of Ed OCR, and Mr. Lento reviewed about 210 pages of evidence and filed the complaint on my behalf. Protect your investment (college) and hire Mr. Lento now, before any hearing or process takes place, or even as it is taking place, HIRE MR. LENTO NOW. This makes the university understand that you are willing to protect your interests, otherwise you are in the losing battle.  I thought I could take on the school as I did nothing wrong and had SOLID proof. Nope, the university just did not care about what I said, thus having a lawyer makes all the difference. Even the staff appointed to helping you won't help you as Mr. LENTO will, why? Because they aren't attorneys and they will protect their employer (the University). Note, I paid for a consultation with Mr. Lento, his consultation is THE BEST, and if you're paying for it, you know his advice will be unique. Other Lawyers would brag about many awards (not mentioning names), and when I told them that the university rejected my evidence, they wouldn't take my case. Mr. Lento went straight in. And I love the fact that he uses emails promptly, he is fast, quick, and understanding. The reviews say it for themselves. Hire him now parents and students, for Title IX, Discrimination, school needs. You need a skilled attorney! Don't make the mistake I made!

Good attorney but good enough?

Mr. Lento was hired for a Title IX case from the get-go in which he responded timely with appropriate information. The case was resolved with a decent outcome, albeit with the information given I believe it could have been dealt with decidedly better. After all the information was fully presented fr...om both sides, a reasonable outcome would be for the client to be abstained of anything which did not occur. I cannot entirely blame or put fault on Mr. Lento as most colleges if not all have very bias processes and individuals in Title IX offices. That being said, if you are looking for a lawyer that can help give a good outcome then Mr. Lento is your guy but if you are looking for someone who is willing to go over the top and really push for you I would look for someone else. Thank you again for your services, Mr. Lento, they are still very much well appreciated.

In reading your review, it appears that you are suggesting while I did a good job and got a good result, you believe I did not do enough and should have achieved a better result - despite there being factors involved entirely outside of my control. Rest assured, I did everything possible on your behalf (bearing in mind what is appropriate in such matters) and achieved the best possible result in light of the allegations against you and the circumstances of the case (a good result that I nonetheless was not altogether personally satisfied with, but a result that had arguable benefits in light of what was at stake). In addition, I continued to address the matter further on your behalf but you choose not to appeal the findings of the hearing panel as is your right. I would of course have liked everything to be to your total satisfaction, but understand I did everything I possibly could to achieve the best possible outcome for you and I remained available to continue the fight. I wish I was the person who decided the case, but that is obviously not how theses matters work. You are correct, however - most colleges have very biased processes and individuals in Title IX offices. As we discussed, the conduct you were accused of would result in an expulsion almost universally if found responsible. Among other allegations against you, you were charged with multiple instances of non-consensual sex (rape by any other name). In addition, the complainant specifically demanded your expulsion. You were found not responsible for the more serious charges and the school placed you on probation. You were able to continue your studies without the typical outcome of expulsion which can literally ruin a young person's life. Additionally, I prepared a comprehensive appeal for you and I did so as a courtesy to the circumstances. At your school, if the appeal was submitted, the prior decision and sanction would be vacated, and there would be a new hearing to decide the matter. After discussions with you and your parents, you decided you did not want to appeal the matter because you were concerned about a new hearing taking place and the strong risk of expulsion if found responsible and rightfully so. In addition, after you decided not to appeal, I discussed pursuing this matter further beyond the school process by seeking recourse with the Department of Education and also the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the school and other involved parties. Although I was ready and willing to continue the fight, you chose not to pursue the matter further as you wanted to put the matter behind you. In sum, I would hope you understand that I did go over the top and really push for you.

Title IX, Civil Rights and DOE Expertise

I initially contacted the Lento Law Firm on Christmas Eve a few years ago. I could not believe it, but Joe answered my call! We talked for more than an hour. He helped our family to resolve a complex Title IX issue with a local university that we had no idea how to address. We are extremely grateful ...for his knowledge and expertise in this area, and his professional responsiveness. We can't thank him enough for his help.

Incredible Depth of Knowledge

I found myself in need of an attorney to assist me in a Title IX matter at my school. After search the internet, I came across Mr. Lento. Within 2 hours of me sending a contact request I received a call. Mr. Lento took the time to explain to me the entire process so that I fully understood wha...t I was facing. He talked about the new rules and how they changed the process and how this could impact my matter. While he could not make me any promises, he made it clear to me that going through the Title IX process on my own could have life altering consequences. He was so right. During the hearing, the accuser tried to introduce things which had nothing to do with the complaint. Mr. Lento was involved and made sure that the rules were followed. I am sure that if I had been alone, this would have gone very bad for me. Of the four charges they brought against me, I was found not responsible for three of them and responsible for the least serious of the charges. I am sure that without Mr. Lento, I would have been found responsible for all of them and would have been expelled. Instead, I was placed on probation, had to write an apology letter, and a short paper. I learned a valuable lesson from the experience and to be more sensitive to the things I say. Without Mr. Lento, I am sure that I would be expelled. This would have been life altering. He explained to me that if I was expelled, I probably would not be able to go to another university. THroughout the process, Mr. Lento was always in communication with me. He put together a hearing plan and he prepared me for being questioned. Any questions that I had, Mr. Lento was prepared to answer and took the time I needed. He helped me manage the stress of the situation. If you have a need for a title IX lawyer, Mr. Lento is the person to call. You will be in the best hands with his support and assistance.
