Bankruptcy

I interviewed many attorney's and found Mrs. Lieber. I found her to be the most professional, attentive and pro active attorney that I had spoken too. I felt she took the time to listen to my situation get to know me and came up with the best possible solution for my family. I called her and we spo...ke in debt for over an hour. After speaking with her I decided to hire her and it was the best decision I made. She prepared me well, answered all my emails and phone calls the same day. The day we went for my hearing there were many cases ahead of us that got postponed or thrown out because the lawyers weren't prepared or they had other lawyers fill in for them. Mrs. Lieber said she would be there when I hired her and she was. When it was my turn it took not even 5 minutes and I got my bankruptcy because of the care and time she took to prepare my case. She is so on top of things and made sure I gave her all the documentation she needed. I cannot thank her enough and I highly recommend her. She did everything she said she would do and more. She cares about her clients and it shows in her work.

Absolutely Amazing - Must Hire if Considering Bankruptcy

About six months ago, I was drowning in debt and didnt know what to do. I began looking for ways to get out of my situation, but just about everywhere I turned seemed to lead to a dead end. It seemed the only option I had left was bankruptcy. I knew nothing about it though, So in an effort to gain ...knowledge on the situation, I began looking for a bankruptcy lawyer to discuss my problem. To my surprise, there were thousands of Lawyers in the NY area who specialized in bankruptcy. What surprised me even more though l, was in this pool of thousands, everywhere I looked I saw the same name at the top of the list; Barbie Dawn Lieber. I said to myself, how can any lawyer have this many wonderful reviews? It's impossible!! With my situation becoming more dyre though, I decided I needed to find out for myself. The next morning, I reached out to Barbie's office to schedule an appointment. I had expected to get a receptionist who would tell she was busy and that I could have an appointment in a month or so. I mean, a lawyer with that many great reviews, she surely must be busy. To my surprise though, Barbie herself answered my call. She also told me she was available to meet that afternoon. I said, how can this be? and I started thinking back to my initial thoughts from the day before regarding her reviews. With my skepticism of Barbie growing, I headed off that afternoon to meet her at her office. Within a few minutes of my arriving at her office, Barbie, very pleasantly, came to great me. We sat down and began talking through my situation. After only a few minutes of talking, I realized how completely wrong my preconceived notions of her were. Barbie was knowledgeable, thorough in the questions she asked and completely professional. She walked me through the chapter 13 bankruptcy process (filing, 341 meeting, confirmation hearing, etc.) and showed me how it could be a beneficial solution to my problem. Although It seemed like a good idea for me, I didn't want to commit right then and there. We left off that I would get back in touch with her in a few days and plan a course of action. After a day of deliberation, I decided to file for chapter 13 with Barbie as my lawyer. I called her and asked her to begin preparing the paperwork and within a few days I was filed. For those who don't know, about 2 months after filing comes the 341 meeting. I had been in contact with Barbie the whole time since I had filed, but she scheduled a call with me the night before the meeting to walk me through what to expect one last time. At the 341 meeting, I arrived early as instructed by Barbie, so I could see how other meetings were conducted. To my amazement, I could not believe how ill prepared other attorneys and their clients were. They were unable to answer simple questions or provide the relevant info the trustee was asking for. After about four hours of watching case by case be a comedy of errors, it was finally my turn. Barbie and I walked up to the front of the room and sat before the trustee to begin the meeting. Thanks to our preparation, the process which lasted about 20-30 minutes for most lasted less than 5 minutes. I couldn't believe it. With the 341 meeting now being behind me. All that was left was my confirmation hearing. This is where the judge confirms your bankruptcy plan and sets you off on the path of financial reorganization. At the hearing, much like the 341 meeting, I watched as case after case got dismissed or adjourned to a later date because the lawyer or client wasn't prepared. This was not the case with Barbie's client though. Aside from myself, Barbie had three clients that day up for their attempt at confirmation and every single case she had was confirmed. Much like the time she spent with me, she prepared all of her clients in the same manner and led all of their cases to success. I can't thank Barbie enough for all she has done! She is an absolutely wonderful attorney!

My Champion!

I was referred to Barbie Lieber by my tax accountant after it became clear that I would not be able to come out from under life events that had left my finances in a shambles. Bankruptcy was not something that I was comfortable with and I had put off the inevitable much longer than I should have. Bar...bie took my call immediately and said that she would make time to meet with me the next day. Within an hour of our initial phone call she'd sent me an email recapping all that we had discussed and listing the paperwork that she needed me to bring along to our scheduled appointment. Her office is very conveniently located right across the street from Grand Central Station. Barbie was on time and on point. We sat together and went through all of my paperwork piece by piece. Her brilliant mind is so quick and with her vast knowledge of the bankruptcy arena she knows exactly what is needed and what is extraneous. She gets right to the meat of the matter, all the while advising you on what applies to your particular situation. Given my extreme financial straits, she worked with me on a payment plan for the fees and advised me how to track my expenses in the months leading up to filing. After assessing a true and in depth overview of my finances, she was very open with me about what options were available to me and how I should proceed. We set upon a plan and over the next six months she would check in with me from time to time just to make sure everything was still on track and that I was doing all that she had advised. She knows her stuff inside and out and shares her expertise with such a generosity of heart that you feel more like family than just another client, her tenacity and dedication is that strong. Barbie Lieber takes a vested interest in you, giving life advice and good counsel along the way. Just as an example, when I lost my job, she encouraged me to contact my employer to get continued insurance for another month, which I did and got!!! She also encouraged me to apply for food stamps which was a great help and she has even given me suggestions on how to earn money while I am looking for permanent employment. On the day of the final hearing I felt very blessed to have her in my corner. She was literally sitting by my side the entire time, keeping me calm and assuring me everything was going to be alright. The time she spent prepping me the day before was invaluable. While I was always impressed and appreciative of Ms. Lieber's talents, witnessing all of the other unfortunate souls that were there for the same purpose, but sadly, unrepresented or worse, represented badly, my gratitude grew ten-fold. Having Barbie walk me through the process with such confidence and understanding was tantamount to my ultimately positive outcome. I highly recommend Barbie Lieber, a wonderful New York City Bankruptcy Attorney! She is honest, has integrity and knows the law.

Nothing better than having Barbie on your side for your bankruptcy!!!

I searched the web and was happy to have found Barbie. She was walking out of her office to head home when I first called her and instead of telling me "to call back tomorrow, she's done for the day", she took my call and heard me out. I was the one who had to cut the call short and she told me to ...call her back in an hour if I was able to and she would finish hearing me out at her home, or I can call her back the next day. I chose to call her an hour later and she picked up and finished consulting with me. She was very professional, informative, confident, affordable, sympathetic, reassuring and seemed very experienced and knowledgable. After speaking with a few other lawyers before and after her, I felt most comfortable and confident in her so I went ahead and retained her. She immediately sent me an email detailing everything she needed from me, even before I was able to meet and pay her, so we can quicken the process because she knew my urgency in getting filed as soon as possible. My case was not as simple over the phone when I was answering her questions and it got less simple when I met her in person and started going over all he paper work. The possibility of a Chapter 13 briefly came up but she did not waiver and at no point did she make me feel that she can't get me the Chapter 7 I wanted. Instead she reassured me that she can still get me approved for a Ch. 7. She flied me the same day I met her, as she said she would and stopped my garnishment immediately to where I even received a refund on my most recent payment. We met one more time at her office before the 341 meeting with the trustee and she did a role play of the possible questions the trustee might ask ask me. Then the morning of the actual 341 meeting, she met me early and told me about the trustee hearing my case once she saw who was hearing my case and reassured me even more that as long as I answered the questions we went over the other day and again that morning, that I will be approved without much doubt. She sat right next to me during the hearing and I literally thought I was still role playing with Barbie because all the questions I had to answer I already heard from Barbie. Actually fewer questions were asked and not as detailed as Barbie's so I guess I was over prepared which is never a bad thing. I felt ready for any question. It went so fast that I didn't even know we were done and Barbie was more excited than me after. I thought we had more to go lol so didn't get excited until I directly said to her "So hold up' that's it? No other hearing or anything?". She said unless a creditor disputes it, which she has never seen her 25 plus years, it's over and just wait for the final order. While sitting outside waiting for a form she had to fill out, she knew another lawyer that was there and they began chatting alil about my case and luckily for me, Macey & Aleman's Case came up in the convo. He just happened to be on that case and at both our requests, gave Barbie information about the case and which court is handling it so f I chose to, I can try and recoup my fees paid to them if any monies is ceased from them. The lawyer said that the Courts were going after Macey and didn't approve the bankruptcy. Barbie then informed me of what I had to do to get my name on the claims list and offered to help me for a very small fee. I agreed and she sent me a detailed email with instructions on what to do, attached with the court form I had to file and even a sample Macey claim from another claim filed. It was easy as can be thanks to her. My official discharge paper came in the mail about 3 weeks ago. Barbie was heaven sent and would most definitely recommend her to anybody I know.
