Barbie is by far the best, most personable lawyer I’ve ever come in contact with. Due to my panic and feeling the need to get it over with ASAP once finally deciding on filing, I first signed on with a different lawyer based solely on his Google rankings, where he is typically the first one to appear... in any NYC searches. Big mistake. After being given the runaround for well over a month, with nothing more than a few 30 second phone calls to say he was “looking into my case”, literally nothing came of it when he deemed my case to be too complicated, simply because it required filling out the means test paperwork to explain my situation. For that I received not even a full refund (the work required for a few 30 second voicemails apparently equates to $500) and a referral to another lawyer, one who never even called me back for an initial consultation. Fantastic. As if deciding to file for bankruptcy wasn’t a stressful enough situation to begin with, these are the sorts of people you can look forward to encountering when actually going through with the process if you’re not careful! I give this background to really highlight just how amazing Barbie really is. This time I decided to do my research more thoroughly. After reading all the great reviews on Barbie, I contacted her and immediately received a response. Within 48 hours the paperwork was done and my case was filed. A month later I had my 341 meeting, which she prepared me perfectly for, and before I knew it I was done with this extremely stressful era of my life. I can’t tell you enough how worth her fee Barbie truly is.
