Drowning in financial difficulties, I was overwhelmed with shame. I also felt shame in the prospect of filing for bankruptcy, so it was the last thing that I would have expected to do. Despite my education and business experience, I went into this process with a high degree of fear and skepticism. Having just finished a hig...hly litigious four year divorce, I was weary of lawyers and of the legal process, which I came to view as a broken system.
