You are never quite sure how you get to this point, I am a professional person with a job on Wall Street, but things were spiraling out of control. I knew it had to be Barbie because my first court appearance in SDNY (while trying to file in my own) and waiting to go in front of Judge Cecelia G Morris, an excellent, very fair Judge, I saw Barbie and how she interacted with the Trustee and the how much the Judge listened to her and how smooth everything was going for her clients. I had also seen her working with her clients at my first 341 meeting of the creditors and her clients were sailing through! There is obviously much more to this story but as we wound our way through this Chapter 13 process and I believe this was one of her most challenging, she never wavered. First, the mutual respect between Barbie and the Trustee and Judge were invaluable. Second, she was always thinking about the case and thinking outside of the box for solutions to any problems that arose, and there were a lot of them. Third, she was always fully prepared and made sure I was fully prepared for what we were currently dealing with and what was to come and she was always there to answer all of my many questions day or night. In November of 2018 I realized it was time to take action on my financial situation. I called around to a couple of highly rated bankruptcy attorneys. I didn't receive calls back from two.
