I’m just writing to thank you Mrs. Barbie, not for just being a great lawyer with a great law firm, but also for being an incredible human being. Due to a huge amount of debt over the past 10 years and my wages was being garnished for the past 2 years. Last summer I discovered I have Pancreatic Canc...er and while going thru the rigors of surgery and chemotherapy and hoping for the best thru my recovery. The IRS sends me a letter informing me that they are going to garnish all my wages for everything except $179 per week, and put a lien on and/or reposes everything that I worked for. Once my chemotherapy sessions ended and I was strong enough to get out of bed without help I started searching the internet for several bankruptcy lawyers. Mrs. Barbie after accepting my case she had advised me that my options were limited but the only way that I could recover from financial ruin is to file for bankruptcy. and this is the compassionate part, once I explained my physical and financial situation to her in great detail, she stream lined an affordable package for me and she even allowed me to make payments for the service she rendered, and like most business transactions there was cost overrun, she even absorbed those cost knowing that I couldn’t afford to pay anymore. (During that time I was only receiving $160 per week from disability). To this day she still calls and sends emails to check up on my recovery progress. I thank her so much for being such a caring, empathic and thoughtful person. I could have never done it if it wasn’t for her help.

I can't tell you how much relief I felt as a result of the immediate stay of eviction. As the date of the 341 hearing approached, Barbie stayed in frequent contact with me…both asking and answering questions. I felt confident going into the hearing because of her detailed preparation…preparation that also included a role-playing of what I could expect at the 341 hearing with the Trustee. On the day of the hearing, Barbie was present and representing multiple clients of hers. One again, in spite of her case load, she provided me with one-on-one attention and a case review prior to our appearance before the trustee. Prior to my case being called, I was able to witness other cases (clients represented by other attorneys). I was in disbelief as I saw several examples of what can happen as a result of poor preparation. One attorney failed to provide the trustee with necessary documents until the very day of the hearing. Needless to say, that hearing did not go well. Another attorney altogether misrepresented several items contained in one of the affidavits…causing the case to be adjourned. I can only imagine the frustration felt by their client as they'll need to go through that process all over again. My meeting with the trustee went very smoothly. I witnessed the trustee reviewing my well-written case and (as a result of Barbie's detail) asking me much fewer questions (than other cases I witnessed). By the way, my case was incredibly complicated and where many attorneys might have taken that opportunity to charge additional fees, Barbie did not. I guess I could summarize this review by saying…if you choose Barbie, you will not regret it. Thanks Barbie! Barbie is everything you'd want in a bankruptcy attorney. She's compassionate & understanding, but she pulls no punches. She definitely tells it like it is.
