Though it might sound a bit counter intuitive, filing for bankruptcy was the first proactive thing I did after my financial life hit the skids, and hiring Barbie Lieber to represent me was one of the best choices during this entire experience. My husband and I found ourselves in financial trouble when I lost my job and the creditors started relentlessly coming after us. Barbie explained everything that was going to happen and how it was going to... happen and why it was going to happen but most importantly WHEN it was going to happen, let me explain. Bankruptcy is a very nerve wracking process, and even though I was nervous, I knew I was in good hands.... The day of my hearing, there were so many people who got their case detaine...d because they, or their lawyer, didn't submit extremely important information (like the sale of a house) in the paperwork!
