In 2012, I contacted James Marsh to inquire if he would take my case. 36 years ago when I was sixteen, I was the victim of child pornography. Several years ago my name began appearing on a database owned by a well-known e-commerce company implying I was a participant in a pornographic film. After failing to have that company remove my name, I reached out to Mr. Marsh, believing he had a good reputation in his line of work. During my consultation, he advised me he was representing another client who was also sexually abused and would use the merits of that case to immediately contact the company in question to have my name removed and seek possible damages. Five months later, Mr. Marsh had not contacted anyone. When he finally did contact them several weeks later, they gave him the same brick wall I had to deal with. To say the least, the effort this attorney made was extremely unsatisfactory. In trying to confirm the claim by Mr. Marsh of representing another client, I reached out to that individual only to be told they had terminated his services several years earlier. The only positive result of dealing with Mr. Marsh was that he did not bill me for his time, or lack of for that matter. I have learned from this experience that some attorneys are good at taking action when representing a client. Unfortunately, this lawyer was only good at self promotion.
